William Jennings just contacted Gabe Olaseni, a 6-foot-10 center from Sunrise Prep in Wichita, Kan., and Gabe is visiting this weekend.

Also, OU is still involved in the Perry Ellis sweepstakes.

If he is athletic, can rebound and block shots, I'm all for it. He does have some high majors interested, which is a good sign.

Great weekend to bring him in for a visit. Campus will be busy with the red and white game.

OU desperately needs some athletic length added to the roster.
And Gabe Olaseni at 6-10 certainly fits the bill.
He's not highly rated but at this point in recruiting there are not going to be big men blue chips left.
Unlike Ahmed last year at least Olaseni has been going to school in America for at least one year.
Too bad OU was not able to get involved with his teammate 6-9 PF Katenda.

Also, recruited walkon point Guard James Fraschilla, the son of ESPN's Fran Fraschilla will also be at the Red White game.

Has anyone on here seen either Oluseni or M'Baye play? If so, what's your take and what can you tell us about them. Thanks

Looks M'Baye put up some pretty good numbers against some decent teams.

A poster on the Iowa board said he had seen both play and that Olaseni is the best prospect. He admitted that his assessment was based on one game. He also added that neither of them had played particularly well in the game he saw, but said that was mainly due to poor guard play and their inability to get the ball inside to the bigs.

I would take that report for whatever it's worth, maybe nothing in trying to decide if Olaseni would have an impact at OU next year. He's a big body who would by all accounts add a defensive presence and shot-blocking capabilities, as well as more depth in our front court.

If Goff doesn't make it in, and there seems to be some question about that depending on which report you read, one has to believe that a player like Olaseni would have a great opportunity to contribute, even if the only thing he can do is stand under the basket in a zone defense with a mean look on his face.

Very true. If nothing else, he takes up space and makes it difficult for small guards to get easy lay-ups.

So where does it say he's transferring to OU? I looked on google and couldn't find any either.

He's not transferring to OU. At least not yet. The language the original poster used was a bit confusing. He meant it is a possibility he could transfer to OU, and apparently he's visiting?

Per OUinsider he's visiting this weekend with the kid from Wichita.

Eric Bossi's said the exact opposite (Katenda is by far the better prospect). I believe he's more or less said that Olaseni is a borderline Big 12 guy, if that (could be wrong on the second part... this was several weeks ago and a lot has happened for Mizzou since).

Are you saying Eric Bossi is a better recruiting analyst than an unknown poster on the Iowa board? :facepalm
