Surprise! OSU no longer has scholarship issues

OU has won 8 of the past 13 Big XII football titles and has made the NCAA basketball tournament 3 of the past 6 seasons. Only a brain dead moron would call that "making the NCAA tournament for the first time in 5 years". Reminds one of the right wing nut jobs saying "Obama had 4 years to fix the economy and failed" 2.5 years into his term as the stock market was soaring, the economy was growing & the deficit he inherited was plummeting. Some folks just aren't too bright.

Bballfan is just another in a long line of intellectually inferior aggy hicks as if we needed any more evidence. You won't see real Sooners participating on a sheep humper message board because we could care less about the orange step child.

Yeah there are no OU fans on OSU message boards or posting articles about OSU on news sites......

See this is why I usually stay at SF.com (which alas has been down for about two weeks now), because all I do is tend to make people angry. :(

I'll take the bait --- I don't think that Joe C. will ever accept a CBI bid for OU, so no to CBI.

I think that if we have a large number of injuries or some of our new guys don't pan out, the NIT is a possibility. However, since I'm eternally optimistic for everything Sooner, I fully expect an NCAA bid this coming season.

Ok..not a bad reply. And to be fair here...I did not bring up football. Whoever post #2 was did so...

I'm here to talk about bball. Hence my name. I'm not going to hide my allegiance to OSU but I'm not here to solely pump OSU or downgrade OU. I'm here to talk about Big 12 bball and OU bball. I have accounts on baylorfans and KU board as well that I post on every so often.

I think OU will make the NIT but I wouldn't be surprised for them to be in NCAA. 5 teams will get in for big 12 I think and I believe OU will be in the top 5.

Badger, you remember Buddy Hield massively outplaying Smart in the Norman rout last season?

Was that the buddy-healed-then-buddy-stealed game? Or was that later in the season

I think OU will make the NIT but I wouldn't be surprised for them to be in NCAA

OK, I'll give you guys NIT too since you gave us NIT. :) The return of Marcus Smart is just asking for a sophomore slump.

OSU has a huge coaching deficit every game. They are pretty much like OU is in football. Talented but the coaching gives up 10 points almost every game.

Yep , You uns see flopper Smart in the Gold medal game- he missed 5 free throws. If Hilde would have been invited-
he would not have missed any.

Haha...

76 division one teams sponsor a wrestling program including OU.

Only 17 teams in the nation sponsor a Men's Gymnastics team period.

16 are division one.

How many of those 76 teams actually give scholarships for wrestling? I read once it isn't very many. Wrestling at many of those schools is just grab ass from regular students.

The sport of college wrestling without the Olympics is basically a balloon with a slow leak. It hasn't been a significant sport in decades. Even if OState had won every NCAA title in the sport, it wouldn't equal even 1 NC in football. A sad slow death. Most OState fans don't even know or follow the sport anymore but they sure are quick to come up with that fairly insignificant number of NCs.

On the other hand, despite having no Olympics, college softball continues to grow in popularity, attendance, and coverage. I consider it one of the top 5 college sports along with football, men's and women's bball, and baseball. Softball does matter and is a much more significant sport now than wrestling will ever be.

Ford isn't a terrible coach, I think he is an A recruiter and a C on the sideline, so a B overall. This is a big year for him. As far as OU, I think under CLK we are going to be very similar to Kelvin era, very competitive night in and night out, and special team built around excellent guard play and overachieving bigs.

You downgrade OU consistently. I don't know if it's intentional or maybe you truly are that clueless about OU hoops, but you do it.

The clueless part is why he is on my ignore list.

I may follow your lead soon. Life's too short to suffer fools for very long.

I'm not very good at it. It's easier. Now I can read this board and, usually, not want to throw my phone/computer.

Top 4 after Football, Men's BBall, Women's BBall and Baseball? Your math might be a bit off. To each their own I suppose. Football, Men's Basketball and then the rest can be put in a sack and drawn out depending on preference.

I don't think I've watched a full inning of NCAA Softball in my life. I've watched a lot of Women's Basketball, Track, Wrestling, Golf and Water Polo though...

Water polo?

lol

Let me guess, big equestrian fan too, huh?

No. But Enid winning 3 State Championships in the early 90's, coupled with playing on a team that beat everyone in Texas, Florida and finishing 4th in the Nation, and having two brothers who played in College, one Internationally gives you an appreciation for the Sport.

Fixed my original post. It is my opinion but tv coverage proves I'm right as far as interest goes.

I've always refused to watch water polo. Felt bad for the horses.

Water polo? OK. That is about where college wrestling falls now in importance. Just ahead of equestrian. Wait...equestrian and water polo are in the Olympics. The slide continues...
