Went to Westmoore last night and got to watch 2 games that had a ton of talked about recruits on this board, so I'd thought I'd share what I saw.

Mustang vs Norman North

Mustang was by far the better team (ended up winning by about 20). Played better team ball, defense, and were deeper.

Mustang

Jakolby Long: Extremely strong, one of the best HS guard specimens I've seen. Plays really good defense, he locked up Trae Young from NN. He is a good shooter and good athlete, I honestly thought he might've been a little more athletic. Just has an all around competitive game. Handles are average.

Curtis Haywood: Very athletic and active. Solid defender and seems to always impact a play in some way. If he was 3 inches taller I could see him getting serious high D1 interest.

Austin Meyer: thrilled OU pulled his offer, impacted the game in no way. Weak and lazy, actually got pulled the entire 4th quarter.

Norman North

Trae Young: you can tell he's a really good shooter, he has a quick release and the one time he got a perimeter shot off (NBA rang) the Mustang coach was furious with his player. Good handles and while not speedy he is very quick. With all that being said he was absolutely locked up by Long, couldn't get open or create at all. He got selfish and really lazy when the game wasn't going his way. Wasn't a good passer or defender. He's only a sophomore and it was only 1 game but I didn't see a top 150 player much less top 30.

Marcus Dickinson: best player last night for NN. Extremely athletic, ultra quick. Passed the ball well and attacked the rim hard. Also was one of the few NN players who gave effort on defense and wasn't selfish.

Edmond Memorisl vs Putnam City North
Memorial pulled out a late win, was down all game. Played uninspired all night until the last 5 minutes and erased a 12 point deficit. A player from PCN was on fire and made some great plays, even had Kruger smiling.

Edmond Memorial

Kristian Doolittle: you can see what OU sees in him, 6'6/6'7 athletic. Moves very well, good coordination, and handled the ball well. His shot looks good but doesn't go in very often, he did most of his damage around the rim. I can definitely see him developing into a wing. His motor is his downfall right now. He could have dominated PCNs lack of size but walked around and pouted about half the game. When he played hard he was unstoppable.

Curran Scott: good scorer, good athlete. Has a polished but yet bullish offensive game. Maid speed really surprised me but lateral quickness wasn't there. He had one play that I thought he should've been T'd for. Loose ball and both teams had a player dive on the floor to get a jump ball. As Scott goes to help his teammate up he drops and puts a hard knee right in the PCN players chest, then gets up a little and does it again. The PCN player was furious. Like other people have said he's mid-major D1.

Nice report thanks

Yes, excellent report. Thanks!

I have watched recruits in high school games over the years, and it seems more common than not that some of the top rated players have a slow motor, or lack intensity for much of the game.

Yeah you'd think they'd have more to prove, especially with Kruger and a lot of other scouts there.

Just wanted to update on Payton Pritchard. He scored 30, leading his West Linn team to a 54-49 win in the second round of the 6A Oregon high school boys playoffs.

Thank you, BC and Swans!
