TCU is in the top 25 in two categories: FG% and FG% defense. Good categories to be good at, but they haven't beaten a good team all year. Surprisingly mediocre team. I thought the coach was better than this.

Starters:

5-6 Jr G AJ Alix 10.17 ppg, 43.28% from three
6-1 Fr G Kianna Ray 8.75 ppg
5-10 Sr G Jada Butts 10.0 ppg, 46.15% from three
6-2 Soph F Amy Okonkwo 12.25 ppg, 60% from three
5-8 Fr G Amber Ramirez 9.62 ppg (missed last four games) 51.28% from three
6-3 Soph F Jordan Moore 9.45 ppg

They shoot 46.73% from the field, 44.30% from three!! They can shoot.

They rebound about like their opponents and have about two more turnovers per game.

They look a lot better on paper than their record suggests that they are.

Against WV, TCU did not shoot well (37.74%)20-53 from the field. They did hit 8 of 17 from three. But, they lost the rebound battle by ten and gave up twenty-six free throws.

try it.

Tied 30-30 in Ames with 3:30 left in the first half, Texas reeled off the final eleven points of the half for a 41-30 lead.

Meanwhile at LNC, Q3, OU and TCU trading baskets at 43 all... lots of sloppy play, but Nancy is swatting shots at will...

If Sherrie can recruit around Nancy big time OU should have a chance to win it all in a couple of years. Nancy may never be the offensive force that Greiner was at Baylor but she could be the Bill Russell of D in the women's game and OU needs to capitalize on this advantage while we can.

A couple of upsets today. It looked like we could have four for the day at one point. ISU led Texas late. TCU profited as we looked sloppy for a half.

I have often envisioned Nancy more in the Russell mold. A lot of people don't even know who he was.

Not a great game by OU. Peyton did what she always does, and her shots were falling. Maddie does what she always does, and hers weren't. But, we got 25 and 12 from them. Mulkey did well with 8 points on 4 of 5 from the field. She had six blocks.

Vivi struggled a bit. But, she finished well, playing good defense (3 blocks), and she scored 13 with 9 boards. Maddie had 8 boards. I guess that Gabbi was OK, but not great.

Everyone else was mediocre today, or worse. TT had a horrible game, poor decisions. We didn't really hustle until we came out in the third quarter. Then, we shut them down 26-11 in the third to take control of the game. Other than for the third quarter, TCU played us even, and they are not a good team.

Saw a recruit at the game and I think it was Katelyn Levings.

Peyton w/ a big day. Love it. She fights for every bucket.

Manning w/ 12 and 8. Not a great shooting day. But a pest all day long.

Vivi came out and couldn't find the basket but finished w/ 13 and 9. Need her to find herself again, because she's a great player when she wants to be.

Nancy is a huge for us. literally and figuratively.

Dungee is making quite a few mistakes right now, we need her to clean it up a bit. Hit some big shots though.

Gabbi was pretty sloppy today. Too much dribbling. Kills our team when she plays like that- also some bad turnovers. Thats after her best game of the year @ KU, but progress is not a straight line.

TT looked like TT of last year for most of the minutes she was playing today. Hope she locks it in cause that was ugly at times.

We saw in the first half how important Vivi and Nancy are to guard opposing post, because Treece just isn't quick or strong enough and EJ honestly just looks lost. About like Vivi was at one point though, so Im not gonna give up on her. but it really should be Nancy to Vivi or vice versa and thats the rotation.

Lenisa has become a very good defender for us. I like her effort. had a good pass to Gabbi at the end of a qaurter that looked real nice. Good at her role right now. I like it.

Gioya. Is she hurt? I swear she has to be hurt. Didn't see anything good today. She just dribbles the ball way too much- its not an efficent way to play basketball. Were gonna need minutes from her in big games against physical athletic teams- I hope she is preparing for that.

All in all. First half was rough, the second looked good. Not a bad performance.

Just waiting for this team to put 40 mins of solid play together. They are slowly getting there. Weds. will be a challenge against the Wildcats.

Gabbi and T.T. need to play within themselves and distribute and move the ball, not dribble around going no where. Poor free throw shooting and many missed shots around the rim was tough to take in the first half. Nice to see Maddie go to Nancy right off the bat the second half. When the team focuses on post play, we seem to take off. Looking for 3's just doesn't get it done. Really nice games from Peyton, Maddie, Nancy, Chelsea, and Neecie.

I like the fact that Nancy can become a "Bill Russell" type of player. She's starting to figure out her blocks can keep the ball in play and switch the floor. Really enjoy watching her development.

I agree about BOTH Gabbi and T'Ona!

Really excited about Nancy and her future! I thought after seeing her from some limited high school games and the first few games this year that she'd be spending this year learning and getting mop up duty but you can tell she's working hard and it's made a difference. She still has lots to learn but she is way ahead of where I thought she'd be at this time. Really love her potential!

Please is it NECESSARY to comment on ANYONE'S looks? That is so hateful, unnecessary and adds nothing to the conversation. Just being at the game with my great-nephew today was sufficiently difficult. He has already learned to act like many adults at the game, griping at the refs, the other players, etc. and that adds nothing to the joy of watching the game or even learning about it.

I am sorry, 61, I am sure there are other posters who would say similar things but I will always be offended and disappointed. I know there is a monitor and that he/she steps in when things are political, I just wish the monitor realized that this type of talk is much more detrimental than people having different political opinions.

Seems anything to do with Baylor gets talked down..I really don't understand why that is. Baylor is about the only hope for the big 12 to bring in a NC.

Ortiz had six assists and one turnover and 7 rebounds. With her 7 points it wasn't a bad game for her.

Having said that she starts a drive and does nothing but back out all too much. Also at times she is not looking for a shot. Turns down short jumpers but most of the team is a shoot from long range or go all the way to the hoop no matter what.

The recent improved play from Manning and Little along with Mulkey is carrying the team now. ViVi settled down after a rough start. Why was she the third center off the bench?. She forces more shots than she should. What is it about this team that they feel they have to force shots. I suppose in time Dungee and Mulkey will get into that act. Chelsea already doing it to some degree.

Another scary thing is sometimes Edwards is the only player going for a defensive rebound. West Virginia must be looking forward to that.

We are doing better than I expected but still inconsistent within the game and between games. We have played two of the weaker teams in the conference so it remains to be seen what will happen against the better teams.

I could care less about having a national title come to the Big 12, unless it's by OU. I rooted against Baylor against UCONN, and absolutely celebrated their loss to Louisville roughly four years ago. And their meltdown (players and a certain coach) on Twitter proved why I did that.
