Tech = trap game?

It sure seems that way with the flopper looming on Monday. Tech has been playing much better the last few weeks. It would be nice if we get some shots to go early so we don't give them a reason to think they can win. I think this game is basically a toss up. Please share your thoughts.

I'm hoping TCU was our trap game. Maybe that close call caught their attention, but Saturday may very well be a trap. There certainly won't be any distractions in Lubbock so that might help the team focus.

I agree. Hard to call any game a trap game, especially when you go on the road.

Yeah, me too. That's why I said after the close call against TCU that I hope our kids learned from the experience.

I hate to bring this up again. But if I was LK I would show the team a replay of our game in Lubbock two years ago when a lowly TTU beat the Sooners by 18 points, their only win in conference that season. So, the Techsters are definitely capable of winning Saturday's game. Tubby has them playing a lot better now. Besides, it's a road game in the Big 12. None of them are easy.

Good point. I just wonder about the attitude of the players. Coaches can talk all day about don't pay attention to the record, blah. It doesn't mean the players buy in. Leaders have to step up in games like this.

I'd say there's a good chance our players were doing that against TCU. Hopefully they learned from it.

I agree except I would go further and say there is no such thing as a trap game. If a college team doesn't show up prepared to play, they can lose to just about anyone on their schedule, including the exhibition games. Every once in a while you will actually see a BCS conference team lose an exhibition game.

Maybe, but I think TCU probably got our attention. Tech is only 1-9 against the RPI top 100 with that one win coming against Baylor. They are playing better overall, but we should beat them.

Just the team in general. As an athlete you never overlook any team. I guess fans can, but not the players

TT is the favorite to win the game. The opening line is OU +1 1/2 . We have done pretty good as under dogs this year.

Agreed; if they fix the fundamental flaws in their perimeter defense and demonstrate effort on every defensive possession, not just after they score, they will be tough to beat. I have to trust Coach Kruger will continue to work them in practice and fix it but it is frustrating as hell to watch open shots and drives to the rim uncontested on a regular basis.

You will always get a tough game from Tubby's teams. We can win if we play well but we have to play better than we did against TCU. If we get a lead we have to keep extending it rather than letting them getting back into the game.
