I consider this the most important game so far this season. It is a conference game, it is in Norman, and it is against a top 5 ranked team. Not to mention against a bitter rival. Texas has some good athletes. They have some tough matchups for the Sooners. They have a good coach. But, they are coming off a loss where we are undefeated in conference play.

What do you see as the keys to OU winning this game (besides out-scoring them)?

Predict a score.

We've pretty much owned Texas the past few years, don't expect that to change this time... But since they are coming off a lose we can expect them to play like there hair is on fire, we have to be able to score, and Kay Kay has to stay on the floor this game... OU 64 Texas 58

Kay Kay, Sharane and Gioya staying out of foul trouble would be key, plus rebounding and hitting our foul shots.

Texas is a really good team. Injuries are slowing them down. McGee-Stafford is back but does not look to be BACK. Is Ariel Atkins out for the season? If not, will she play?

73 - 69 OU

Rebounding. Limited turnovers. Free throws. Fast breaks. Tight defense.

This is a tough match up, even with their injuries. It may end up being tougher than Baylor.

This is a must win.

I rather wish they hadn't lost to Iowa State right before coming to Norman. I think we can take one of two from Texas, but I don't know which one. We may win in Austin and lose at home. It has happened. Their temporary injury problems at guard may hurt them. But, their size may hurt us.

I see that some Texas fans are saying that Texas isn't playing all that well as a team yet. They seem to have more talent than togetherness. An Iowa State fan posted that this Texas team is good, but not CP3/OU or Griner/BU good.

I have no idea what will happen in this game. Stay on the court, Kay Kay.

Texas is not a good 3 pt shooting team. McCarty is the only one who has shot well BTA but she is only averaging 7 PPG so I'm not worried about them beating us from outside. With their injuries, it certainly helps our chances.

If we sag inside and clog the middle, that should help slow down the scoring of Enemkpali and Lang as well as keep their guards from penetrating and scoring inside. It also should help us with rebounding. If we do this on defense, I pick the Sooners by 5.

If we guard the 3 pt line and leave the middle open, I will take Texas by 8.

If we rebound like the second half against WV, both halves at KU, and the first half at Tech, we win by 3. Our free throw shooting is slowly coming around, and this is the perfect game to be on. We have played excellent defense for 5 out of the last 6 quarters in Big XII play. I like the fact that Sherri is mixing up her defenses making the opponents work harder. Kaylon is playing a little smarter, she needs to continue. With Texas reeling a little bit, this is a perfect time to take them down. I agree with Syb, the way we are kind of in a zone right now, we either take them now or at their place. Looks like the Big XII is kind of a crap shoot right now. At least we have two road wins out of the way, lets keep it up. I really hope our Posts players will use more pump fakes at the glass, they are getting too many shots blocked by not. We need to continue to attack the lane, our shot quality is going up by doing that first then kicking out to the three line. Lots to like about the Sooners right now.

OU 71-68

I don't expect us to keep things even on the boards, Lang is really Long 6'5 and Nnekka can really really jump...

We need solid post play, KK to stay on the floor, hit some 3's and OU wins by 3. 62-59.

I have confidence in our guards. Post play will be the key, and I don't feel we are strong enough there, yet. It should be a good game.

Texas is not scoring from the outside. I have no idea why we are guarding out to the three point line.

Hopefully in practice we don't work on one girl dribbling through the press. Nothing makes me more uneasy than a team that struggles against full court pressure.

I like the effort so far. Need to to work on rebounds, fouls, and working for better shots.

Clog the middle and we win. We are giving up to many points as well as rebounds by guarding the outside.

Hard fought first half. Proud of the girls. Like our rebounding and how we're attacking the basket.

Glad Maddie has had such a good game so far. Deserves it.

Pretty good defense tonite.....the thing I saw that most concerned me was our defense of their hi-post passing to the low post. They got three or four easy baskets off of that play.

A few silly turnovers in the first half but better than some games I've seen.
