Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State stay put in Big 12 - ESPN

Penalty to leave the conference is $30 mil plus loss of revenues- very steep.

And getting lashed with a wet noodle.

I read today where all team signed a document committing themselves to the Big 12 for 10 years. That's very good news.

I don't know the answer. I haven't seen the document. It's great that they've made that long-term commitment though.

Have Big 12 schools signed a contract to remain in the league together long term?

No. School leaders expressed public support for the Big 12. In short, it's something comparable to a hand-shake agreement. They are trusting each other to honor it.

BU/KU? lol I read an article yesterday that said the moon was made of cheese. It seemed logical so it has to be true.

The confusion comes from the fact the 5 orphans signed a 10 year commitment. OU, UT, A&M, Tech and OSU did not. It was a way for the other teams (read Missouri) to show their commitment to the revamped Big XII. Basically, OU, UT, A&M, Tech and OSU can leave, but the other five cannot. This may all change, if the conference bylaws are changed.
