Both are 17-12. Only two games separate them in conference ...

Who saw this coming at the beginning of the season?

Nobody. Answer is nobody. It's insane to me that UT can have such a call from grace. Never leave Rick Barnes!

It honestly makes you wonder how Texas is still in consideration for a tourney spot but TCU is just not even being named. TCU has 2 wins against top 50 teams and Texas only has 1. And TCU has a non con road win at a 19-9 ole miss team.

The fact that Texas have their own ESPN network probably helps keep them in the conversation. That won't effect the committee but it will ensure that the biggest sports outlet in the country keeps talking about them.

Texas consistently gets the benefit of the doubt from the national media, and I don't get it. I remember that last year they were consistently ranked above us, even though we swept them.

Maybe it's the two head to head wins UT has over TCU.......one by 18 and the other by 23.

Maybe. But they got swept not only by OU, but also oswho.

It's not that difficult a question to answer.

Texas (47)
TCU (119)

Not all "similar records" are created equally. TCU beat up on a bunch of nobody's in the OOC schedule. Not just teams ranked outside the top 50, but teams in the bottom 100.

Even so, the TCU program looks to be on the upswing.

TCU (4-12) (17-12)
> @ OSU (Wednesday)
> Iowa State (Saturday)

Trent Johnson seems like a good coach and also seems to have TCU on the rise. TCU is 9th in the conference, yet the Frogs do have some talent and they play very hard. Most importantly, they have shown improvement since the start of the Big-12 conference season. Late in the season, TCU does NOT present automatic wins to their fellow Big-12 opponents. In the past week or so, TCU has lost road games in Lawrence by 9 points, and in Norman by 7 points. TCU also has late season blowout home wins over OSU and KSU.

It will be interesting to see where this program goes with Trent Johnson. This is his 3rd season at TCU. It is difficult to climb up the food chain in the Big-12, but future wins against the Frogs may become even more difficult. Can TCU leapfrog a program like OSU next year?

How tough would SMU be if Miles Turner had committed to them instead of fetus? He came very close to going there.

Their inside game is already pretty stout, especially on D.

A bigger "gain" for them would be having Mudiaye(sp). They really only have the one little guard that is good, Mudiaye would give them a second good one.

I sure hope TU can get in if they beat Cincy, b/c I don't see them beating SMU in Dallas. Just not a good matchup for them.

The national media has been killing texas the past two weeks.
