Their loss just looks worse in hindsight. High seeds get upset every year, but the manner they lost in is just incredible. Imagine having their size and length and athleticism and getting dominated on the boards.

Smart sucks. He just can’t do enough to get fired.

In his first 5 seasons at Texas, Rick Barnes had 7 NCAA tournament wins. In Shaka's first 5 seasons at Texas, he has ZERO NCAA Tournaments wins....mind-boggling.

They were going to fire him until he won NIT. Then hangs. Wins conf tournament. Waste more talent than maybe any coach in America.

My guess this post is for us that think it’s time for Kruger to retire...

I hated it when my kids compared what they got to what other kids got...carry on.

I completely agree. He’s so overrated as a coach. He’s just not that good. texas has a lot of talent on the roster and they never win anything and underperform every year.

Totally agree. His buyout is just over $7 million. Unless they have an absolute sure thing with a consistent winning coach (Moser, Musselman, Beard, etc.), I think they probably hang onto him for another year. Coleman, Hamm, Febres, and Sims were all seniors. I don't know if any of those guys would stick around. And Greg Brown is still a projected 1st round pick the last time I checked. If they lose all or most of those guys, their roster is significantly less talented next year. I don't think he survives more than 1 more year.

I haven't kept up, is Brown leaving? That would be great.

Moser doesn’t fit. Could you imagine 5 stars wanting to run his stuff? Moser has been to 2 ncaa tournaments?

Beard? He could call and say fire him and I’ll take it. Seems content for now.

That would be kinda funny watching 5* and 4* guys running a 1980s flex motion offense, but they would at least be well coached.:ez-laugh:

And Beard is a UT alum, that is the main reason that I mentioned him. But I don't know any more than the next guy. Beard may have his sights set more on a blue blood.

Isn’t Indiana looking at beard and drew?

Drew would be a fool to leave Baylor. The way he is recruiting at Baylor currently is about the best he could hope to recruit at IU over the next several years. Big 12 is probably easier to win in then the Big 10 currently. I'd stay if I were him.

Shaka struggles to coach all the talent he has assembled! I hope he stays forever.
