Joe Lunardi has them in today. When they lose to KU, they probably need to win that first Big 12 tourney game to stay in. It shouldn't take more than that.

The announcers seemed to think ONE win might get us there.

And if UT is a lock for the Dance, a lot of folks on this board were wrong about what OU would have needed to do. All I kept hearing was that there was no way 9 wins would be enough, and that 10 wins might not be enough. UT is likely going to have 9, with a VERY weak OOC schedule to boot. If they win one in the Big 12 tourney, they'll have 20 wins overall.

The announcers said that more than once, which caused me to do this everytime I heard it. :facepalm

I really hope I'm wrong, because this team could benefit from playing in the NIT. I just don't see it. One more win in the Big 12 tourney would give OU a 16-15 record overall. Even if that is enough to turn a few NIT selection committee eyes in our direction, I believe they will look away without a second glance when they realize we finished the conference at 5 - 13.

I'm happy for the win today. But I think the only way this team gets a post season birth is if we win the Big 12 tournament.

What about the CBI, the 3rd tier tourney? Might cost OU a $100,000 or so to play in it but these guys need all the games they can get and the practice time.
Didn't Tulsa or ORU play in that tourney in the past few yars?

Tulsa did. I don't know about ORU.

Don't OU fans say this every year? Don't I remind people every year that the Big XII is a good basketball conference and will get at least 50% of the conference in the Tournament?

I don't see OU getting in the NIT but I hope they do.
