is 3-0 in the tournament (if you count K-State's win in the play-in game) thus far. This is in no way a validation of the conference's toughness this season, but it does indicate that the brutality of a rugged conference schedule can prepare you for close games.....to some degree.

Having said that, it was a very pedestrian Thursday (not many upsets).....thus, we had all better get ready for some craziness tomorrow.;)

Pokes lose so there goes undefeated. I still think the Big 12 is doing pretty solid overall though.

Michigan shot like 2016 Villanova. Credit OSU for not losing by 40.

Osu sucks

To be honest, I wish our NCAA Tournament losses were more like this. Their fans will gripe about their poor defense, but Michigan committing only four turnovers yet winning by 1 point means OSU had to play one heck of a game. If you're going to lose in the NCAA Tournament, it's best to lose knowing your team played a great game as did the opposition. OU had games like this against Memphis in 1985, Iowa in 1987, Indiana in 1998, Purdue in 2000 and Michigan State in 2015, but that's not very many. Most of our losses were far more disappointing. Props to the Pokes for such a spirited effort.

OSU outplayed Michigan by a mile. Michigan's 3 point shooting was comical, you simply cannot beat that.

But it was also representative of the fact that 3 point shooting is what matters in college basketball. You can get to the lane at will, outrebound your opponent, and generally outplay them, but if they're making 3s while you're making 2s you are in big trouble.

Yep. That's the thing about basketball. Sometimes when your opponent is making it rain from 3 there is absolutely nothing you can do. Just one of those days for OSU. They put up a good fight.

K-State got blown out by Cincinnati but they won a game so it's not a bad tournament for them.
