NAMING THE LLOYD NOBLE CENTER STRENGTH TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE CENTER FOR BLAKE GRIFFIN

Boren will recommend that the regents vote to name the Lloyd Noble Center Strength Training and Performance Center for former basketball player Blake Griffin.

The new center would be named The Blake Griffin Performance Center. Griffin made a donation that accounts for more than half of the private planned funds required for the center's construction.

Griffin led OU's men's basketball team to the Elite 8 in 2009 and was selected No. 1 overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.

I like it! BG would deserve the recognition even if he had not made a donation.

Pretty unreal watching a talent like Blake Griffin play at OU... OU has a very strong basketball tradition, but man, Blake, he was on a different planet.

It's appropriate for the performance center be named after Blake not only because of his donation, but also because he is renowned for his strenuous workouts.
