The Sooner Nation demands an apology, sys.

Listen, the things I said while I was at my KKK meeting were said in the presence of a bunch of Klan members, who I knew wouldn't take offense. Therefore, what I said should not be held against me.

ding ding ding we have a winner bob!

Let me explain to you what people infer from this comment. I don't care if I offended you. I am too stubborn and too immature to appologize. Quite frankly I am above being judged by all of you.

Perhaps you should have tried this:

My comments were meant to be clever and I think they have been taken out of context. With that said, to the extent I offended anyone I appologize. I certainly did not mean to disrespect the memory of Austin Box, his family or anyone else. I am truly sorry that I did offend people.

It really isn't hard and you would have come across as a much better person
.

Pretty much sums up what I was thinking after reading this thread. I was always taught, that sometimes even when you think that you are right, you can be the bigger person and show humility, especially when it affects the ability to remain at peace with others. Obviously sys is too " set in his way" to consider showing some humility here. We all screw up, say things that we probably shouldn't, or do things to offend others. IMO, the bigger person is the one who can apologize and move on, for the sake of peace.

How could somebody really be offended over a comment from somebody they have never met about somebody they have never met on a message board they have never been to?

Get a life people.

The best post on this thread so far! :clap

I have a problem with a poster who doesn't have the balls to apologize for his insenitive remarks about a young man's tragic death. Never mind that it was not meant for the posters on OUHoops. It offended me, and it should be offensive to anyone with a caring heart.

IMO, Sys owes the people on this board an apology. If I was still calling the shots here, he would man up or find himself on the outside looking in. That's all I have to say!

There are certain lines that decent people don't cross. If you don't understand that, you have a problem nearly as bad as sys does.

i agree that it would have been insensitive to post irreverently about his death here, due to those reasons. however, i did not do that.
pathetic

hello, fellow sooner state citizens.

I have decided to venture into your bbs to clear the name of goEMAW.com and ouhoops.com poster, Sys.

Sys didn't say anything about Austin Box being a terrible human being, woman beater, old lady purse stealer, drunken drug addict. He totally overlooked those facts, and to me that makes him a good person/poster.

Hey, guys. I would like to let you know that while most of what you linked was classless, not all of us Wildcat fans are that way. Drugs are horrible and I pray for everyone who takes them.

This is why I'm so proud to have Bill Snyder coaching my Kansas State Wildcats. With his guidance, and the thoughts and prayers of fans like myself and others, I don't recall a single Wildcat football player ever dying from drugs. Jerks make the world go round. Maybe instead of getting angry at people who are mean, you should pray for those that you love and care about so they don't end up like Mr. Box.

this is the doosh bag that claims to have known box. **** off

On behalf of goEMAW.com, we apologize for sys's conduct. He has been banned.

He should meet the same fate here if he refuses to apologize. This board has not been, nor should it ever be, accepting of hurtful remarks about a young man's death that ripped at the hearts of the people who loved him. I don't care what Box did to generate that kind of response on goEMAW. Sys was wrong, and he needs to admit it!

That said, your post makes me feel a lot better about the web site you represent. Apology accepted.

Fine post, Branson Bound. I think most of us know that not all Cat fans are like those who chose to bash Box on goEMAW. Fatty4KSU has been a favorite on this board for years. He's a stand-up guy with a unique sense of humor that nearly everyone enjoys. Even Sys was thought to be a good poster prior to this incident. I'm just as upset with his arrogance in the face of criticism, than anything he said on another board.

While I agree with what you said about prayer, which is something we all need. I also believe that unkind words designed to be cute and flippant, should not be tolerated under any circumstances, especially when they have the potential to hurt family members and friends of a young man who died tragically only hours earlier. That thread, and the post Sys and several others made, is a sad commentary on what far too many fan boards have become in recent years.
