Watching the team as Kruger subbed in Cole and the other senior, then after the game. They didn't seem real disappointed. It's hard to judge from these sorts of things but I'm sure they had time to adjust to the fact the season was over because that game was over by the 8 minute mark of the 2nd half. Maybe too they know the future is bright but one would think they would be pissed by losing to TCU by 20.

It makes me think they have have been treating this season as a spring practice type thing the past few weeks. Maybe I'm wrong.

This is true.. Makes me wonder if adding young is enough to make this team good. This team seemed to lack passion and heart, along with poor basketball IQ..

These players fought their asses off every damned game. Sometimes they didn't play well and sometimes they didn't play smart. I think tonight they sort of underestimated how much intensity they'd need to win, but they never dogged it. Even when they were losing several games in a row and it would have been easy to take games off, they didn't.

I'll probably get in trouble for the language I've used here but I frankly don't care. I will not abide armchair experts who wrongly question the effort or passion of a bunch of kids who, even when they played badly, gave everything they had.

Just to be clear, and I know you weren't quoting me, but I didn't question their effort. I observed at the end of the game they didn't seem very upset. That doesn't mean they weren't upset but it seemed from where I was they knew this wasn't their last rodeo. I'm sure some relief that this season is finally over too. It's been a grind for then to play so many close games only to lose almost all of them.

Being at the game...there was a different intensity on the floor from tcu and OU. It was very obvious.

I'm sure they have both emotions, glad the crap season is over but tried to give it their all.

I'm pretty competitive and I know on my ball night if we get down by 4 or 5 points (we play to 11, 2's and 1's) hell even I'm like let's just call it and start over...lol.

(11 seems low, but we've had 25 min games..that's how bad we can be!)

Yep. This team still hasn't learned how to "bring it" for an entire game.

I wasn't there, so I can't speak to the players' body language or the appearance of being disappointed after the final buzzer. If deep down they were glad this season was gratefully over, who could blame them? I am too, and I'm not one who usually cries uncle under any circumstances.

What I can say without any reservations whatsoever is that this group of players gave it their all in nearly every game this season. They didn't give up or mail in the final score. These kids played hard. They just didn't always play smart, or find a way to make key plays that could have changed the outcome.

In all honesty, though, I didn't see the intensity and the determination in last night's game I have been accustomed to in the majority of games throughout the season. I have no idea why? It just wasn't there. So, maybe that's what BOB saw when the game was over.

That is a really bad attitude/outlook to have as a competitor. I guarantee you those guys wanted (or should have wanted) to continue playing. That is what competitors do, through the good and the bad.

If I as a fan was trying to justify to myself that the team could catch a break and win the Big 12 Tourney, surely those guys were too. We're better than TCU (or should be). KU would be without one of their top players, and they don't always play their best in the Big 12 Tourney. We beat ISU once. Could have beaten OSU twice. Beat WVU once.

But none of that matters when you come out and lay an egg against TCU.

Toughness. This team doesn't have it right now. The off season should be extremely tough for them and even go to some type of training as a team that instills toughness. We have too many quiet type guys and no leaders that hold everyone accountable. You have to hate to lose more than you love to win. I hope we can get there but we need some tough guys added to this team.

I get your point but we lost a 21 point lead and lost in ot to ISU.

But Adas point is spot in. Every competitor has felt that way guaranteed. Perfectly natural. This season was over a while back and the kids knew that. I still think they tried they're hardest, or the hardest that Kruger demands of them... lot of the kids can be a lot less lazy

Incorrect. They beat us in double or triple OT in Norman and ISU won in Ames.

I went to church so I left with about 13:00 minutes to go in first half. They were slow to the ball. Defensively I was kinda surprised at the lack of intensity. Offensively, the zone seemed a little better from TCU but I thought we'd adjust. I left hoping for the best. I recorded it and decided about 8:10 id go ahead and check the score. 20 point loss? I was somewhat shocked. I really thought they would win and challenge KU in the quarters. Maybe they mailed it in. I don't know. I thought it would be a struggle this year but I had no idea we would lose 20 games. The good thing is there is hope with those coming back and with the addition of, at least, Trae.

not true this team exibited lots of passion and heart in most of the games they lost. They lost games they should have won. But needed more leadership.Their game at home against TCU they played with great passion. this team needs talented size nexr year to win 20+ games. I hope LK can fine some real size too keep the program upright. And hopefully this years players will play consistently next year.

Basketball IQ has to improve. They have to play more aggressive especially for loose balls and long rebounds. I think it will improve as they get stronger in the weight room. I agree that we don't have any natural leaders on the floor.
