What are your opinions on transfers? This is the time of year so many are revealed. Some leave during season but most respect the team have their end of season talks with coaches and make their move then- now it's open season on a lot of players this season in particular some very good ones! Big 10 taking biggest hit!

If you can afford to wait a year and you truly believe they will help, I would signed them.
 
Unless your just on the chopping block most programs can afford to wait esp for some of these high profile kids. And even if your down another year it shows your program a kid of good talent is willing to play for a school in poor position if your up well it just shows many kids want to jump on the winning bandwagon - neither way bad. Personal preference. You just gotta know if kids are quick to pull the transfer trigger it's not always a good thing. I guess I'm torn on it!
 
With as senior heavy as OU will be next year it wouldn't hurt to have a player or 2 sitting out and be able to step right it to fill the void the following year.
 
I remember when Peyton initially transferred to OU from A&M, I read an interview with Sherri where she said something along the lines of "We normally don't consider transfers, but we liked Peyton so much beginning in high school and she's a great fit for our system so we had to have her". So I thought it was interesting that she also accepted Morgan Rich, only to give her a puzzling lack of playing time.

Agree. Shepard looks like one worth pursuing. Do not get one to just warm the end of the bench. Morgan Rich is a mystery to me. If she is as good a shooter as some say, why did Coale not play her over a couple minutes the second semester.
 
looks like Mccoy is a package deal with her sister, so ou likely won't contact her, even tho she is now looking at Baylor. Lewis would be a good pick up for OU, I know we have Veitenheimer set to come in but, Lewis has shown she can play on or off the ball. Any of the Maryland kids could fill a need of ours as well, but Kiah Gillespie would help us alot because she can swing between both forward spots...

I like Shepard as well. 6-foot-4 post, 18.6 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game for her career at Nebraska.
Had a 30 pt, 20 reb game vs. Michigan. Will be a junior when she plays again. She'd be coming on after Vivi graduates. And OU athletics has a good history with folks named Shepard. :-)

The Rich situation is interesting. I'd never seen a player transfer and then not play at all. Hope she'll be able to contribute on the wing next season.

I think anyone who would be a real factor at athletic scoring 4 or 5 is a must grab.
Dungee/Llanusa/Tatum on paper is a great trio at the guard/wing.
 
If we were to be in the scope of one of these, I would hope that it would be Jessica Sheppard, simply because of our needs. We need a rebounder-type more than a guard or wing, someone who is effective inside. Boley seems to be a wing (2.8 rebounds isn't a lot for a forward). Good shooter. I loved Gondrezick when I saw her against Dungee and Patterson in an AAU tilt. She ate Patterson alive, stealing it every time she was near Patterson.

Agree Syb. If given the choice, Shepard does fit our needs perhaps better than Boley. The low post scoring and almost 10 boards a game would give us what we need post-Vivi.
Although I'd appreciate what Boley offers as well, coming from that winning program and being the accurate shooter that she is. It feels like the guys we have billed as shooters turn out to be inconsistent and don't make enough shots. Boley played a bit in the high post and can really shoot it well from the wings.
I'd love Shepard, but if Boley showed up (long shot, sounds like she misses her Kentucky home) I'd be ecstatic too. The Gondrezeck girl sounds interesting too. Is she similar to Peyton?

Combo. More of a gunner, better handles than Peyton.
 
My guess is kysre goes to Texas. She or Littleton possibly. I think 4-5 have to be a focus and of course stretch 4 players which are a nightmare to march up if they are good.
 
Again I know lots of kids transfer each year - no digs on these kids but the number of highly talented transfers still astounds me
