"caught flat-footed"...sorry that is a laugh for what any OU administrator would have been witnessing the last couple of years.
True dat.Wow can be taken two ways.
"wow, OU hired a big name head coach"
"wow, OU hired some guy from Eastern Popcorn Shore I've never heard of"
It could be a no name guy from a small school or it could be John Wooden.
Zombies can be coaches too.My guess is its not Wooden, just sayin
It could be that some BIG OU donors threatened to close their wallets if Capel was retained for another year. It could be that these BIG donors made their feelings clearly known in the last few days to the OU administration.

Lawyer05! Where you been, bro?
That said -- I am ready for the start of the MLS season tomorrow. Although I have a feeling it could be another long one for our Fire. If so, everything out of the Fire front office says it will be time to sack the manager (and maybe Klopas too).
Honestly I can't believe they didn't can him after last year.
You are correct. That explains why Joe looked uneasy at the press conference today. This is what I've been hearing since before the OState game. I have some contacts that are fairly well-connected (I didn't post it because I don't want to start rumors). I was told two weeks ago Capel was done, and that it was a decision made by "people other than Joe C."
That said, I doubt Joe was caught flat-footed. If what I've heard is true, he's known Capel was done for a couple of weeks.
