I'm hoping to avoid a third and this isn't helping...

How is Capel supposed to get the impact players needed with this crap going on? All I know is that Joe better have a sure thing locked up (like Clyde) or hurry up and endorse Capel.

Might be the best post I've read in some time here.

BCG could take next year's roster, plus a JUCO pg and maybe one other recruit, and get us to 20 wins. No doubt.
 
Lose recruits?! Who the hell are we really in on that would really make things worse if we lost them? Especially given we'll be getting a new coach anyway. We are at square ONE no matter who bails or who stays... We've got bigger problems than any recruit we have a current realistic shot at anyway.

I agree. I hope the rumors are true. I want to see some $%^t hitting the fan. The program is dead. It is time for Joe to shake things up.
 
And to add to that... There is not a recruit in this entire current process that would make Joe C. and this admin "rush" to any decisions or feel like they need to move quickly for their sake...

This is a decision that needs to be made CORRECTLY... no matter how long it takes. And if you want a coach that's worth a crap, that almost universally means waiting until THEIR current team is done playing...

And this has the distinct look of Capel blowing the whistle because he realizes he's out. A very bush league move if true... and honestly a pretty nasty sabotage attempt on his part.

But, I still wouldn't expect it to make Joe feel like he has to rush either. Hiring a guy now vs. hiring one in 3 weeks make very little difference in the grand scheme.

actually yes it does make a difference. a HUGE difference...because there will be less candidates left in 3 weeks and we want a goodun.

No offense, but I don't feel as if we have a realistic chance at a single "impact player" for next season. I'm sure some will disagree by either holding out hope despite evidence against the notion or over-estimating the abilities of the recruit.

In other words, I don't believe we're signing any impact players for 2011-2012 even if Joe C came out and gave Capel a vote of confidence tomorrow.
