First upset of the day?

UNC Wilmington over Virginia

Could be quite a few today. A lot of the upset games I like in the first round are being played today.

I agree that there could be a lot today. It depends on if UVA can hit any shots at all because their defense will keep them in pretty much any game.

I'm going to step out on a limb and say either Princeton (Notre Dame) or East Tennessee State (Florida).

The only seed upset I see happening is MTSU over Minnesota, and that's not even an upset as the teams were just seeded incorrectly. The Ivy League teams are always a threat, but I just think Notre Dame has the athletes and experience to get through. Virginia is well positioned to just grind out a team with inferior talent, although they could just go ice cold and score 45 points.

I bet you $100 there will be more than just that one.

The ones I like:
UNC Wilmington vs Virginia
ETS vs Florida
MTS vs Minnesota
FGC vs FSU

I like these less, but wouldn't be surprised:
Nevada vs ISU
Vermont vs Purdue

I'd be pretty surprised if there wasn't at least two from that top group. More likely there are three or more from that list of 6, and I didn't even list two 4/13 games that could be close.

Parity is alive and well.

I agree that parity is alive and well. That may be true this year more than anytime in my recent memory.

My struggles with filling out a bracket this year had more to do with a lack of interest in college basketball in general. I usually watch a lot of games, so I have a fair idea by tournament time which teams I should pick. That was not the case this season. My interest level dropped a little more with every OU loss.

Winners
ND
Virginia
Butler
UF
WV

so far no upsets...

Minn down 8
vandy down 7 half

Missed UNCW, hopefully middle Tennessee holds on.

So far, the only confirmation I have from the regular season in relation to the tournament is that the Big 10 pretty much sucked this year. I'm glad I picked my brackets that way.:chestram2:

During the late session, I've mostly been watching Dunk City vs. FSU. There sure have been a lot of dunks and not much defense....but it has been fairly entertaining.

FSU is huge. One of the biggest college teams I remember seeing.

March Madness always makes me wonder where all these good big men come from, and why can't OU get a few more of them?
