To add insult to injury

OSU did struggle this year in Big XII play. While they won two road games, their average margin of victory on the road was 10 points. They lost to OU on the road and a team that doesn't struggle wins that game.

I think OSU will struggle next year too but I think they will struggle as a middle of the pack Big XII team not a 10th in the conference team. OSU obviously has the concern (or apparent concern) of replaceing Anderson and Muonelo but I would also be concerned about how over signed they are. That could lead to some issues.

Ford obviously gets discipline. He can apparently recruit. He has a descent system but I would be seriously concerned about this over signing thing. I have no clue what the guy is going to do next year to get to 13 scholarships. I think he is like 5 over or something crazy like that.

Ford signed two over the limit, not five. Walker and dowell are the likely ones to be asked to look elsewhere. If he continues to do this then yes it will cause some problems but im willing to bet this will be the last year he oversign. Sean left him with no point guards and no big men so he had to go out and get 3 point guards and 3 post players to see who stuck. It still amazes me how sean didnt sign anybody to backup eaton

Man some of you guys are a lot more optimistic than I am. I don't look for us to stay within 10, and I think Anderson puts up 25-30.

There is nothing about this team that would counter your opinion. Funny thing about this team is in the beginning of the year they got off to bad starts and then plated better late. Now they get off to good starts and then fall apart. The only way we stay with OSU is Tony Crocker. If we can match him up with Anderson and Cade with Muenelo, those are decent matchups for us. The problem is will TMG defense, Fitz's defense and Gallon's defense will be stiths.

The real problem, in my opinion, for OU matching up with OSU, is who is going to keep Pilgrim off the glass? He's gotten a lot of confidence the last few weeks. He had 16 and 9 in 23 minutes against OU in Stillwater.

As another question, what's your opinion on Pilgrim now, DM? I remember this summer, you and I disagreed on what he would do this year.

OSU beat a much better OU team in OKC last season. No reason we can't return the favor this year. While I realize there are a thousand reasons this may not happen, it is still one 40 minute game where anything can happen.

One big difference between that game and this game is that OSU was actually playing good basketball at that time last year. We aren't.

I agree Senior. Just trying to find something hopeful to hang my hat on this week.

Ford has impressed me by getting upsets last year over us, UT and Tenn. Ku this year was also impressive. Both years they are playing better at the end of the year. They will stomp us.

I wouldn't count Tenn, that was the 8-9 game. Hard to consider a 8-9 game an upset.

Fatigue is obviously a big part of our problem because we have gotten out to leads and pretty good leads in many ball games and just haven't been able to hold on. That's a sign of fatigue and youth. Maybe being in the tourney and possibly the last game of the season they will leave it all on the floor.

Here's a question, lets say we do pull the upset and beat OSU in the first round

would that make everyone feel a little better going into the offseason after the season we've had?

It would for me to an extent. I would be happy to have a win because it's been awhile, but I won't feel much better until we see what happens this off-season. If we can keep the nucleus of this team together and add the right pieces I think we can be much improved next year. I know a lot of people are down on him, but I still trust in this guy: :jcapel

Beating OSU always makes me feel good so I say yes.

two programs going in opposite directions. It will definitely show in Bedlam Part Three.

Yeah, I'll get back with you on this one mid way through next season when OSU is not looking like an NCAA tournament team. They have one of the top 5 players in the country on the team and yet Ford can only mustard up a 9-7 conference record, 7th place in conference, and likely only an 8/9 seed in the NCAA. Lets see how they look without Anderson and Muonelo with no one on the team to fill those gaps.

I bet you were saying the same things last year when we lost Eaton and Harris. Ford found a way to get it done this year, I'm confident he will do the same next year as well.

Haha, yes I've seen OSUjeff bring this weak argument. Now anyone with common sense and without blinders on can see the HUGE difference. Last year your team was actually better IMO with Eaton but took a small step back this year. This year you had Anderson, a first team AA, and Muonelo senior guard honorable mention Big 12 on the team. Who does OSU have next year genius??????????????????????????? Here's the answer, no one. Midgets Page and Penn who by the way play awful together? No one is even close to what you are losing. OSU will be back to the NIT next year. Book it. Hell you were almost an NIT team this year with Anderson, but got KU when they in all honestly didn't give sh#$ about their game and was already thinking about their Senior day against KSU.
