1.) Markel Brown (6'3'' 190-OSU)
-Has Lace Dunn written all over him. Ford says he is a good shooter, great scorer. Both #1 coming out of Louisiana, both underecruited, similar size, pretty much same stats, etc. Both averaged 30-something points and 10 rebounds per game. Very athletic.

2.) Javarez Willis (5'11'' 175-Tech)
-4star by rivals. #74 overall player, #18 point guard. Chose Tech over Fresno, Houston, SMU, Southern Miss, ORU, and some other mid-majors. Supposed to be one of the better shooters in the class. Went 18-23 from 3pt line in a game last year, hit 10 three's in a game at the Great American Shootout last year. Should be a very good shooter for them.

3.) Nick Thompson (6'9'' 220-OU)
-Recently named captain and has earned praise from coaches and players for ability and work ethic. Came in low-profile after a mediocre juco career, but looks to be OU's starter at power forward next to Fitz. Good shooter, good athlete, hard worker, good size. Just what OU needed.

4.) Matt Pressey (6'2'' 185-Missouri)
-Named first team National Junior College Athletics Association All-American as a sophomore.. Averaged 17.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in his second season at Navarro, which included back-to-back trips to the NJCAA Championships. Versatile guard that averaged 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game as a sophomore ... Consistent scorer that reached double figures in 33-of-37 games in 2010, including 16 games of 20+ points.

5.) Caleb Walker (6'4'' 205-Nebraska)
-NJCAA All-America first team. Jayhawk West Conference Player of the Year and Region VI Player of the Year. averaged 16.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while hitting better than 53 percent from the field. He also hit nearly 38 percent from 3-point range and better than 71 percent at the charity stripe while ranking second on the squad in assists and steals. In conference games, Walker ranked third in the league in scoring (16.8 ppg) and led the Jayhawk West in rebounding (9.7 rpg).

I have heard some people close to the coaches who think Markel Brown could take Keiton Page's starting position at the 2. I don't think it will happen, but that is what I have heard.

I would go with either Nick Thompson or Caleb Walker to make the biggest impact on thier team, this year. Both OU and Nebraska will need someone to step up and they may be the ones to fill that role.

Good thread.

What I like most about Thompson is his knowledge of the game. I just think he will be one of those kids that makes the right pass, knows when and where to cut and screen, takes the right angle and timing on help defense, and vocalizes instructions on both end to teammates. I don't think he will be a guy that puts up double figures in scoring, but I do think he will be a guy who can knock down open jumpers from all over the floor and who makes his teammates better.

He is pretty much the definition of a sleeper recruit and its obvious from the recent player poll and he being named a captain that his teammates and coaches have already bought into what he can bring to this program.

Very glad to have Nick in a Sooner uniform.

If that were going to happen, I would rather see Keiton Page take the PG spot and Markel Brown take the 2.

PG: Keiton Page
SG: Markel Brown
SF: JP Olukemi
PF: Darrell Williams
PF: Matt Pilgrim

That gives OSU more size, shooting, athletic ability in the starting lineup.

Yep, I can't wait for that first game to see him and the others.

From what I have heard the line-up would be
PG: Ray Penn
SG: Markel Brown
SF: JP Olukemi
PF: Marshal Moses
PF: Matt Pilgrim
With Page and Darrell Williams being the first two off the bench.

IMO Ray Penn and Matt Pilgrim are for sure starters. I really don't see Markel Brown taking Keiton's spot, but I have heard the coaches really like him.

I love lamp and I mowed two days ago.

It's about as relevant as Ok States starting lineup discussion and what this thread was about, just sayin....

Is this for immediate impact (this season) or over the course of their college careers?

If it's the latter, I'd throw Ricky Kreklow in there up against anybody.

Immediate impact.

actually I kinda like hearin' about OSUx's lineup and players. This is, of course, despite the fact that they will aways be inherently inferior to Sooners.

Nick Thompsons' situation just puts a huge smile on my face. Coach certainly deserved a break on the recruiting front and it appears Nick was at least a triple if not a home run.

We need some fricking 9-5'ers with OT potential on the court in C&C to play with some of the "talent". Nick looks like a perfect fit, even if he does look like a Celtics roster reject.
