Regardless of his thoughts, he will likely get picked in the middle of the lottery. In various Mocks, I saw him as high as #6 and as low as #10...doesn't get any more in the middle than that. The main reason why is because he does appear to be that "boom or bust" candidate. Is he the next Steph Curry or the next Jimmer Fredette? That's at least being tossed around by NBA Execs.
I wish the young man nothing but success! Plus, if he does well, I can't foresee a scenario where that doesn't help with recruiting.
Yep, the D. J. Augustin type. DJ was drafted #9 and ended up being a decent bench PG for 10 years and counting. And, in fact, he's the guy Trae would replace if Orlando drafted him.Jimmer's not a good comparision because he wasn't a point guard. Trae can play point, which means at the very worst, he's going to have a long career as a guy who can get you offense off the bench. Those guys are valuable, even if they can't defend anyone.

Trae is a much better passer though.
Trae is taller than DJ right?
NBA Combine.......6 foot 1/2 inch tall................177 lbs.
Ouch, very small. OU listed him at 6'2'' 170... Curry measured 6'3'' 181 at the draft combine.. Curry also has a 36 inch vertical which Trae Young isn't even close on, and Young had the shortest wingspan in the entire combine.
He'll make a team happy with some great highlight reel material. I hope he can shore up the defensive side bc that will be the key to making any type of playoff difference for a team.
Yep. Been saying that since December of last year. The publicity Trae received last season alone will draw fans to the arenas like flies. He will be an instant hit.
