Young says he may sign early. "up in the air"

Sounds like he knows what he wants to do.

I wish he would, if OU is not the choice, it gives LK time to go to Plan B.

He knows... But will it be what he wants or will it be what dad wants...

We've spent the last decade losing these high profile recruiting battles heads up, and Lon has proven himself to be able to coach whoever shows up on campus. I'm not going to get my hopes up.

C'mon Dad, let the kid do what he wants, lol.

The sad part is Cal will just go find another 5-Star, Young would be one of OU's top recruits in school history.

From what I was told from someone I trust 100%. OU for Trae UK for dad

That's exactly what I heard, too. I'm not sure I heard Kentucky for Dad but he wants Trae to take more time. I definitely heard Trae prefers OU right now.

Another update...

@joeduvall: Spoke w/ Trae Young & can confirm @EvanDaniels report that the 5-star may sign early, but tells me it's still "more likely" he signs later.

Really hard to read kids these days. I never have sources, but know someone who knows the Young family and agree with what Coach Talk is saying -- dad really wants him to go to one of the "Bluebloods". Rest of family wants him to go to OU.

Dad needs to get over himself. It's not as though Trey is choosing between UK and Central Oklahoma University. He'll get a good education and great coaching at OU and it won't adversely affect his NBA prospects -- just ask Buddy and Blake.

Obviously Kentucky has a hell of a story to tell but OU can also say that 2 (Buddy & Blake) of the last 8 Naismith winners came from OU. Kentucky has only had 1 Naismith winner (Anthony Davis) ever (1969-2016) despite the multitude of talent that has gone to Lexington.
