Trae young may sign early

Not sure if serious. All signs point to OU or UK...

i am actually serious and have it from a good friend close to trae family

OU was leading for a long time but things have changed over the last 2 months. UK isn't an option, he wants to stay close to home.

he grew up an OSU fan and always saw himself there. Lindy waters and Underwood have inched their way back into his recruitment. he loved his KU visit and is a lean to KU.

this is what i heard and its same person who told me OU or UK for past 3-12 months

OSU seems odd to me. How would that work with Evans there? Would they move young to the 2?

Not doubting your source, but this just shift just seems bizarre.

If true maybe it's good that Lon hopefully knows now so he can go recruit other PGs.

I've spoken to an ast OSU coach has made a good impression on him. They aren't confident in signing him. They've sent out offers on several 2017 PG after trae visit.

I've heard no talk of anyone but OU or UK.

I haven't spoke to Trae so I don't know what he is thinking but everyone around him says OU or UK.

Evans is probably gone after this year. Should be a 1st rounder.

Still don't see him at OSU especially with the offense OSU runs.

I'll be shocked and so will several staffs.

I think OSU would be the most shocked.

I was just shocked to here that a former OU ballboy apparently grew up an OSU fan despite having zero ties to the university.

he does like OU as well and always has. his dad would take him to many OU games and he was a ball boy for awhile. but he lives in norman and the familiarity while it helps, may actually play against our favor.

my comment about growing up OSU fan is not family driven thing, he supposedly has always followed OSU basketball.

he doesnt get alot of family OU pressure simply cuz his dad is a tech guy and its actually his other family members that have OSU connections.

Dad wants blue blood.

I'm not saying OU is out but the momentum has switched and im sorry if 247 hasn't picked up on info yet, just relaying info

I know nothing of a lean as of yet, but I do know that at least three of the coaching staffs involved feel that it has officially hit "circus stage." All of the information is there from every school to make a decision. Both the family (dad) and Trae enjoy the attention and are trying to market that attention for opportunities down the road. Drama will follow.

Interesting. Lon doesn't seem the type to invite "drama" into his program, I don't care how good the player is. I wonder if there are any other '17 PGs he is zeroing in on.

I can't imagine he doesn't have someone on his radar as a backup plan. That would be incredibly uncharacteristic of him. I have a good feeling that when everyone sees how good this team can be next year with a quality PG, someone will want to be that guy.

Even though he turned out to be one of the most over-hyped recruits of all time, I honestly don't want to go through that Jai Lucas nonsense again.

We know as much today as we did yesterday, which is nothing.

Which is also as much as we knew last month and the one before that.

I miss ouleopard.

I feel the same way! i would rather see LK take the best available Plan B candidate than take a chance on waiting for this drama to play out. If Trae (or his dad, as may be the case here) don't see OU as the best option after more than two years of being treated like royalty, chances are good we will be left out in the cold in the end.

Think about what waiting on Pritchard got us. Remember him? Bet he was no more than a distant memory for most OU fans on this board until his name was brought up right after the Oregon scrimmage. Yet, this time last year he was being talked about as our PG of the future. Now, it's Trae Young.

If Trae chooses another school, we'll be fine. Lon will find a way to win without him.

Knowing the way Lon conducts his business, I can only imagine that the staff is posturing itself exactly the way they should, to continue to recruit Trae, yet continually exam all possibilities and stay in contact with other candidates.

I was recently home for my high school's homecoming back in the middle of October. One of my friends that lives in the Norman area was back home as well. We were talking life, kids and OU (which is life!) and we started talking about Trae. My friend and their family are pretty close to Trae's family so I had to ask what the feeling is for his pick of school. I was told he loves OU, KU and UK, but it's more likely that OU will win out because of being able to play for a great school and in his own backyard. Of course a lot will happen behind closed doors between now and when he commits, but I at least found this to be very good news for us. My friend isn't a big OU fan either. They grew up and are still a KU follower. However, after living in the Norman area for the past 10 years or so, OU is starting to get to their good side!

I vote he decides to sign early with OU. If he doesn't sign with OU get it over with so we can get somebody else.
