Trae young may sign early

I can understand why you might jump on a great PG if you're worried Trae might go somewhere else. However, if it's true that he wants to go to OU, it's probably worth waiting. It'd be a shame if a talent like him lost out on a chance to be a sooner just because his dad spooked OU away.

If OU did decide to wait it out on Young I wonder if the staff feels like Shepherd could be the PG next year. Because if they do wait till late period it will probably all be scraps.

We'll take a PG. They like shep, but saying that only scraps are left is harsh. Kruger found several guys in the late signing period.

Shepherd is not scraps.

You misinterpreted what I said. I didn't call Shepherd scraps.

The fact is there aren't near as many players available in the late period. The real good ones that do wait get snatched up by the blue bloods that have guys leave for the draft. Yes, there are diamonds in the rough like Cousins, but hard to find. It just makes it hard. I'd rather have more to choose from in the November period.

Lon got Shepherd in the late period, I did the math. Scraps term may apply to big men more than guards.

The entire staff is at NN scrimmage in Texas. Elite 14 Camp

Don't know if anybody saw this interview with Trae... Not sure it gives us too much information on where he'll go; but he does give a timeframe if he chooses not to sign in the early period. It's free content.

Crystal ball is trending our way since last week.

As of yesterday, seven 247 contributors (eight including James Hale) have OU in the lead. Let's hope that's a sign they have the inside track on where Trae is leaning now.

I'm beginning to feel better about our #1 recruiting target!
