Trae Young

Rumor osu hired Boynton because of a relationship with Trae's dad and he thinks he can sway Trae to Stillwater. There's a pretty good source on this as far as osu strategy. Personally I have no clue if there's anything to it. I can't see Trae changing his mind after the press conference and all the fanfare. But we got it stuck to us in football so you never know. Need signing day to get here quick

Man we just need more drama don't we. No offense to OSU rumors but a lot of em still believe they could get Bill Self back.

What happen when Trae signs with OU, do they fire this guy for having a failed strategy or...?


FWIW, Evans was the one that had the best relationship with Trae from Ok State from what I was told. I also think Trae's openly talked about how he was close with Lamont Evans somewhere possibly, don't remember.


Either way, If Ok State's plan was to hire this dude because of that strategy, they're a bigger dumpster fire than I expected.
 
Frankly that wasn't an opinion. Just information from a friend who has a connection in the osu athletic department. When I was told the scenario I couldn't find an obvious connection on their staff to Trae's dad. Still don't. And, my comment was that would be risky and in my opinion far fetched. I still feel that way.

So please don't crucify me for a crazy thought because it wasn't mine. Just passing on what I heard.

Think about the nonsense your Poke friend wants you to believe. Boynton was an assistant on Underwood's staff. Why would a promotion change his relationship with Rayford Young, if indeed there was one in the first place? Keep in mind, too, Trae's dad wanted him to go to a blue blood school, not some also ran that had lost nine of ten games and seven in a row to OU before last season. Besides, Trae's dad signed off on what Trae and his mother and siblings wanted to him to do.

I don't believe one word of the latest Poke attempt to get OU fans riled up!

Doesn't look like Mizzou is even trying on Young.

Blake Harris (point guard formerly committed to Washington) is coming for an official visit next week. He's down to Mizzou and NC State.

CJ Roberts is already committed (pending a decision to stick with the commitment; he meets Martin for the first time tomorrow).

Terrence Phillips will be a junior next year and is solid.

Martin's first offer for the 2018 class was to a point guard out of Memphis.

So Mizzou's going after several guys at the position, but Young doesn't appear to be one of them.

Whoa, there. No one is treating you like a troll. Your reputation as a reputable poster on this board is well known (or should be) by everyone here.

I simply didn't buy into what your OSU friend was telling you because it made no sense. I even explained why I didn't believe it. My observations were not meant as an indictment on you, and to be honest I'm surprised you took it that way.

The fact that Sooner fans see your Poke friend as a troll has absolutely nothing to do with you. We don't trust your source. I have a feeling you'll know why when what you were told fades away like a flatulent in an Oklahoma wind and Trae Young signs with OU next month.

Oh yeah...that was you. That's you basically acknowledging that there's little to support your gossip. So you've got no reason to get bent out of shape when others here agree with you that there's nothing to suggest that your "source" has any credibility. You basically said that yourself.

If you're going to post what you already know is crap, be prepared for people to call it crap. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't post what you essentially acknowledge is nothing more than junior high school gossip.
 
The other thing I heard was that TY's dad said Tray would consider OSU if Jim Dickey were the head coach, Rayford played for Dickey at Tech.

Rumors, rumors, rumors.....

Tray isn't going anywhere else.

Look , I was just throwing information out just like everyone else on this board does. Just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean it's gossip...it's opinion. And, that opinion came from a member of the osu athletic department. Yes he's an employee of osu. I was just trying to give people the perspective that the pokes might be taking. So don't act like I'm just making up junior hi crap. I got better things to do than post rumors on a message board.

Sounds like your friend with the athletic department committed a NCAA violation by talking about an unsigned recruit.
