Trae Young's father was interviewed on The Sports Animal

Yeah, I don't know if Blake even got that kind of ovation when he first played in Okc with the Clips. Maybe he did, it's just been so long.

Does Buddy get a big ovation from the Thunder crowd? :buddy

Buddy got a huge ovation when he entered the game in his only visit to OKC thus far.

Blake got a similar ovation his first year, except for the boos from the aggies. Since that first year, he continues to receive an excellent ovation at the starting lineup intros.

Oh for pete's sake. How much love Mr. Young and his family get shouldn't even be on the list of considerations. He needs to focus on his son, not on his own need for affirmation. His priorities are way out of whack.

lol...EXACTLY....my kid only got recruited to play baseball at a couple D1 juco's here in Ks...but man. It had NOTHING to do with me....

seriously...dude is ...well, I don't want to say it. :facepalm

Why does he keep grouping the Oklahoma media with the University of Oklahoma basketball program ??

Second , he's mad no one called and congratulated his son in being named a McDonald's all American ??

What an idiot .

I think of how classy Blakes father was then I see this guy ,complete opposite .

Mr. Young, sending your kid to Kentucky is telling him to take the easy way out!!! You may not agree...but it is. What is he going to learn from that experience??? He won't even need to be counted on or face much adversity...because of all the other 5 star kids. He will simply be lost in the shuffle!! He will not be remembered by most UK fans in 5 or so years!!!

KU? Well, that would be challenging for him. If he doesn't win the Big 12 CS every year...it will be a disappointment. That must be exciting.

Go to OU, you will be the leader of the team from day 1. You will learn what it's like to lead a team and make people around you better...which is what the NBA looks for in a PG. You think all those 5 star kids at UK need your help?? Not near as much.

You will never have another chance to play in front of family and friends. Heck, you don't have to go any further than Buddy to tell you how special it was playing at OU..and look how much better he got in Lon's system. This system is MADE for GUARDS like you!!!!!

If getting more tweets by fans is more important to you, then go to a blue blood I guess. I can't imagine that is so important...in the grand scheme of things...it really isn't. But it's your decision. You can choose the path most taken...or you can choose to be the next pioneer of a program that is 1 year removed from a final four run...and has tons of young, unmolded talent that is waiting for the final piece (you) to be added!!!!!!

Good luck to him if he goes to UK. They already have Quade Green out of Neuman Goretti in Philthy coming in at the one spot.

Goretti is a PA powerhouse with multiple state titles and are routinely nationally ranked. They play everyone so he has seen tough competition.

I saw Green play a few times. He's as good as advertised. OU offered him.

Young is better than that kid.

I think maybe it's because OU was the only Oklahoma school in the picture.

My point is these reporters are unbiased. They aren't pulling for a kid one way or another .They have nothing to do with our basketball player .
Obviously a Kansas ,Kentucky ,or North Carolina reporter isn't going to cover every game of a out of state HIGH SCHOOL basketball player .
It has everything to do with his home town team and nothing more .

His father better get use to it . Do you really think a Kansas reporter is going to hold back is his kid has a horrible game on college ....no way .

Not only local news but national pundits /espn will be all over it as well.

That's what reporters do , if he was lighting it up I'm sure the story but have raved about him and dad would have been thrilled . Hell he wants a front page story just. Cause his son was selected as a McDonald's all American.

His father wants all the attention ..... but only if it's positive .

That's not the way things work , you don't get to have your cake and eat it too

The dad clearly doesn't want the kid here. Good riddance.

First of all, we don't know that. More importantly, however, if he wants to be here, should we turn him away because his dad doesn't want him here? Who cares? There's not 1 doubt in my mind that Kruger has dealt with similar situations in the past and could handle this one. There's far too much focus here on the dad. If Trae wants to be here, we should welcome him with open arms.
