Transfer Portal 2025

I like beers as a player and when we use her in the low post she is very effective. Bea and liz transformed their bodies innthe last year. I am betting beers looks different next year. This team looked more fit across the board from last year

I was optimistic about next year before chavis committed. An elite point could definitely be a game changer in a lot of ways.

I would like to see us find a 6’2 or 6’3 mobile power forward that can shoot to pair with beers in the portal. I sure kuds like that don’t grow on trees. So i might be dreaming.

What is the thought on cam smith’s potential. Does she fit that description?

Johnson portaling is a bummer. I was hoping she would grow into that player

TCU will take a step back next year without Prince. They don’t make them like that often so it could be a gamble for her to go there.

I highly doubt that. TCU is rumored to get Clara Silva the 6’7 post from Kentucky.

If her and Olivia goes there they could be a problem.

Caya Smith is 6’1” so a little shorter than your size above. She looks to me to have the frame and athleticism to get bigger with some off season weight work and be a stretch 4 type…just depends on her development. Our 25 recruit Brooklyn Stewart also has some outside shooting capability…though I would say she is more of a classic 4 that can also play in the post.

No she is definitely not a post. I hope she doesn’t play the post for Oklahoma. She’s too good to be in the post IMO. We can use her as a stretch 3 or 4 . Can score the ball on all 3 levels pretty well.

Well, according to seeding that’s about where the program is.
Silly goose. 1st Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All American is not 14 levels behind. I'm sure as a former coach you get this and your all world sis understands that too.

Our losses this season:

South Carolina x 2
Texas
LSU
Duke
UCONN
Kentucky
Miss State

6 of our 8 losses came from elite 8 teams and Kentucky & Miss State both made the tourney. Yes, Turnovers need to be worked on but you have to play the cards you are dealt...I'm sure as a former coach you understand that. Turnovers are also a symptom of the holes in our roster...also something as a coach you surely understand.
In the Big 12 several of our players worked out just fine. There was no Georgia Amore, Mikalya Blakes, Tina Pao-Pao, Jewel Spear, Cooper, Fulwiley, & Mikaylay Williams. The lesson we learned in the SEC is that the majority of the teams have tall, fast, ie athletic guards that pressure the ball and were major match up issues on both ends of the floor. This is why we had to transition away from Tot & Jones this season. Guards would isolate both and we could not stop them on the defensive side of the ball or be able to position for a good pass in or drive to the hoop on the offensive end. This did not happen in the big 12 outside of Texas.

Oh, so why is that an issue with turnovers? Well, if you don't have anyone that can create their own shot and/or drive to the hoop they have to "force" passes because there is no other option to create. The only person on our roster that could come close to that was Reyna. If you are not athletic enough to create (meaning fast enough and strong enough ball handling skills), it also allows the defense to sag off poor shooters & clog up the paint as well, if there is no fear of the outside shot or drive.

I think the challenge that most of us have on the board is that we had a team go to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 12 years and finish 4th place is the toughest conference in the country and every time you post it is a complaint about the team. Yes, message boards are meant for also venting on the shortfalls of your team...but when its constant it is annoying.

She averaged under 2 points and about 7 minutes per game with a few DNPs...NC State did have really good guards this year so they are a tough group to beat out for playing time...but those stats make me think she is likely to move down a level.
Thinking about what we need out of the portal...we need a guard that is a physical good athlete willing to take on the Lexy Keys role...come off the bench for 15-20 minutes per game and be a tough 3 and D type player. Maybe that could be Laci Steele...she might also want to go somewhere and play starter minutes.

TCU must have some crazy NIL money to land so many solid transfers the last couple of seasons. If they land Miles and another good post to replace Prince they'll be okay.

I'm more interested in who we grab out of the portal. I think all we need is a longer athletic guard that can shoot against good defense and a backup post that is productive and we could very well be final four caliber next season!

Hope Landry finds a good landing spot. I had much rather find some place I could play lots of minutes even if it is a lower division school. Better than riding the pine at OU. Your college years go in a hurry.

I had high hopes for Landry. We are really going to have to strike it big in the portal to have players to rotate next season.
