Transfer Portal 2025

Respectfully, Brooklyn is no post player. Not even close to it. She’s a 4 or 3 player at Max. I can see her playing the five if Oklahoma wants to play small ball but no she is no post player. Stop trying to say she is a post because she’s not. If you watch her highlights she’s definitely Power forward guard with shooting range from all 3 levels.

Just because a player is tall does not mean they are a post/Center and some of yall fail to realize that.
I disagree…is she a pure strong low post player like Raegan…no. But she often posts down and makes low post moves. She also can also hit jump shots out to the 3 point line. She can hit a nice fall away 10’ jump shot. But her skill set, in my opinion, is that of a 4/5.

Here is a full game of hers from last year…watch it and see what you think:

We can disagree to disagree. Because I never really watched her HS highlights. In her AAU games she plays the 4 and Sienna plays the 5.

High school I can definitely see that she plays the 5 but also she probably doesn’t have a choice because she is the tallest on the team and most HS teams tend to put the tallest players at the 5. In AAU they don’t do that.

Looks like TCU is getting two Notre Dame Transfers.

Olivia Miles and Kylee Watson.

So who is OU actually going after in the Portal? Just fuels my suspicions about OU blowing their load on Chavez (which was the right move).

I was told Oklahoma did not give what she was asking for but promise her a NIL deal with Jordan I believe. I heard Texas and Texas Tech kept throwing money at her but she still chose Oklahoma over them. To me it was the style that Jennie runs that made Aaliyah make her decision to come here and not only that she will be running the point for OU as soon as the season comes. Rumors were said that if she ended up at Texas she was not going to be running the point and thats what Aaliyah wants to be is a PG leading the way, she has always made that clear IMO.

And at the end of the day Jennie has known her the longest and was recruiting her since 7th or 8th grade. Aaliyah did mention her and Jennie has a very close relationship which is probably another reason why she chose OU over the others because of the many years of a relationship she has already established with Jennie.

I do believe Jennie was recruiting her since she was the HC at Drake.

I read that Chavez was really torn between two programs she loved and actually FLIPPED A COIN the day of/before her announcement and OU won and that's how she decided. Now, this was coming from a Lubbock newspaper article, so take that for what it's worth, but if that is true then idk what to think besides I'm just glad OU won.

Considering the source, I'm not sure I'm buying that.

Yea I saw the same article ans laughed. Respectfully I truly believe Aaliyah was being nice with having Texas Tech in her top 6. I don’t think she was ever going there, she did it because it was her hometown University.

I also know Sheryl Swoopes wanted Aaliyah to go to Texas Tech but in all honesty it never made since for her to go there because of how bad of the program has degreased. Not only that but TTU is a Adidas school, Aaliyah is a Nike athlete .

In women's basketball, it seems winning a title matters a lot more. Or maybe (more likely, actually), the only teams with true NIL money for transfers are those 5 or 6 programs who are at the top echelon on the sport (UT, USC, USCe, UCONN, LSU, etc).

Paraphrasing from an AAU Coach I saw on another board…players are choosing teams based on (generally in this order)
1 Money
2 Relationship with Coach/Staff/teammates
3 Winning

Players are in different situations and may prioritize differently

I really think Reyna could have helped us next year. Wish her the best wherever she lands. Looks like she has some good schools interested in her.
