On Evan, there is an old saying that there are lies, damn lies and then statistics.
On Duke, he was essentially benched this year. Goodine moved into the starting lineup. As the year wore on, Dayton began taking some of his minutes. And, with Jones and Jeff coming back, he would have been competing with them. I liked Duke and wish he would have stayed but I can see where he thought he was likely to have a very reduced role in the team next year. One thing is for sure: Duke is not a point guard. He only has the handles to be a "short space" dribbler IMO, and he certainly didn't have the handles to be a point guard in the SEC. In my opinion, he was a good tough undersized wing. I thought he gave us good production and played winning basketball, but would have been a disaster at point. Fortunately, we had Fears, Kobie and Dayton for that role.
