Business indeed. Free money.
He had a serious injury and only the Moser fanboys want to bash him for not playing. If the same thing had happened to a returning player, I seriously doubt people would be killing him. But since he is basically an anonymous face to Sooner fans, everyone wants to slam him and JN.
People absolutely lumped them together, based largely on Porter’s stupid comments in December and January about them being close to playing. And the very statement “business decision” clearly implies that you think Jones was healthy earlier enough in the season to play, but simply chose not to. There just isn’t any way of knowing that. As I’ve posted, he detailed the exact injury on Toby’s show in mid-January, and said that he was still not able to run and jump at a normal level. Let’s remember that we aren’t talking about whether he was healthy enough for a pickup game at the Y. I have no issue acknowledging that the dude could have suited up and played, but that isn’t the same as saying that his health and conditioning were good enough to be a legitimate contributor to the team.I haven’t seen anyone “slamming” either player. I really haven’t seen a single person say anything at all about JN given how serious his injury was. People have questioned whether Jones was healthy enough to play and he deserves that imo. At the same time, I don’t have a problem with him making a business decision either. That type of decision can open you up to criticism though.
Where are your receipts? I wouldn't burn my source(s) for a message board fight either. Call me reprehensible cause I'm in Coach's camp. I believe the ADULT (not a "kid") could have played. He sat down with his advisors and implemented a plan. Perfectly reasonable. He didn't make the rules, just applying them to his advantage. However, he is semi-pro/pro now. If you're getting paid, you're no longer an amateur. Along with the spoils come the negatives. Live with it or get out.If you want to call something a fact, you sure as hell better bring something more than a completely unverifiable claim. I mean, I could just as easily say that I have a source who says Jones is only able to get out of a wheelchair for a few hours a week. I just think it’s pretty damn reprehensible to take shots at a kid and insinuate that he is faking an injury after being full go two months ago.
You tend to create narratives that aren't there to be more upset than you should.People absolutely lumped them together, based largely on Porter’s stupid comments in December and January about them being close to playing. Coach’s claim is that he was fully ready early in conference play. We were 13-0 going into conference. If he was healthy around that time, when the team was doing great, I think he’d likely have been more than happy to come back and play on a team that was riding high.

Coach has been right more than wrong? During the Moser era? That's some funny stuff.Coach has been right a whole lot more than he's been wrong. As such, give it a rest unless you have something specific to counter what he says (and you clearly don't). If Coach says Jones is healthy to play, he's healthy to play. Period. Jones obviously made a business decision. It's unbelievable that Coach's benign wording could result in a ridiculous argument.
I think he was referencing the inside scoop CT gets.Coach has been right more than wrong? During the Moser era? That's some funny stuff.
Well he did say Pedulla to OU was a done deal so maybe take things with a tiny grain of saltIn my experience, you can take whatever factual statements are made by CoashTalk to the bank. Don't worry about initiating "engagement" Coach, we, long time board members, appreciate your information on the Board.
Well I was informed by a current OSU basketball players father that Garrison was a lock for OU. Seemed good source as well.Well he did say Pedulla to OU was a done deal so maybe take things with a tiny grain of salt
