No doubt. The way he acted. I’m good with itNo UK just had the key
Our nil should be better. Creighton does not have a football team, Although they probably have less NIL overall, they have less athletes to spread that value to.Some info/insight from Trillys board. A user said we were going to up our NIL budget for basketball from 2M to 4-5M next year, but someone on Trilly's said Creighton is up to 7M and was curious where that put them in the Big East...he said 3rd or 4th.
That is gnarly. Means we are probably still bottom half of NIL in SEC, if everyone keeps upping.
(not sure how revenue share factors into that or if that is straight dollars pre-share)
Rev share is supposedly about 3.7 mill then all the extra is still gonna be there and will be in the same boatSome info/insight from Trillys board. Good to hear but imo talent does not matter when our coaching staff fails to utilize or develop itOur nil should be better. Creighton does not have a football team, Although they probably have less NIL overall, they have less athletes to spread that value to.
It’s undeniable that Moser has had plenty of talent come through. He’s had three NBA level guards, Moore, Mason, Cooper, etc. The dude can recruit but he can’t develop.Good to hear but imo talent does not matter when our coaching staff fails to utilize or develop it
The $2 million number is exactly what I was referencing the other day. And it was 1/4 of that last year. That’s how far behind we have been. Some info/insight from Trillys board. Read it again. He is saying three NBA guards PLUS those three guys.moore/mason/cooper? nba level? get outta here
But yet, we still managed to have Houston's starting PG, Kentucky's best player, and others, and STILL missed the tourney.. wonder what the real problem is...The $2 million number is exactly what I was referencing the other day. And it was 1/4 of that last year. That’s how far behind we have been.
Reread my post pleasemoore/mason/cooper? nba level? get outta here
There are smaller schools with lower NIL budgets than us that have adequate bigs. And Moser has had talent. Last year's team along had Uzan, Oweh, Moore, and Soares. Uzan and Oweh arguably regressed under their second season under Moser and then exploded the minute they left him. It is extremely hard to defend Moser's rep as a developer. And as far as seeing how he would be with a quality frontcourt. That is HIS responsibility to bring guys in that can play in the frontcourt. If he doesn't beat Texas once in a 4 year stretch, I'm not sure how anyone can defend keeping him around. My perception is a little different than some of you guys. I think there has been decent development, just a lack of talent in the frontcourt and ability and/or money to retain some of the guards we have had. My opinion is that it is a little early or hard to know Moser's ceiling as a coach when he is operating with the talent he has had. This year, with a low budget roster, he is just a few buckets from winning 8-9 games in conference and more than 20 games on the season. And, the team is playing its best ball late in the season notwithstanding the negativity around the team over the last couple months. That says something.
If for no other reason than curiosity, I would like to see what Porter could do with a 7-8 million dollar roster. I don't have first hand knowledge, but the numbers TEvans and Indy mentioned above is what I have heard from a couple donor friends of mine. What I have been told is: First year -- no NIL, Second year -- Around $500 K, third year a little less than $1mil, and this year around $2.5mil. This more than any other reason is why I have had more patience with Porter than many on the board, even though I have many of the same complaints.
My concern is that even if we dramatically up our NIL game with rev share, will that make us any more competitive if everyone in the SEC ups their game. What in the hell is it going to take to procure a decent competitive team going forward. Next years $7mil NIL budget might be inferior to this year's $2.5mil budget.

MoneyIf the OU women can get an all-SEC center in Beers in the portal, why hasn't the men's team in the past years been at least half as successful landing an
at least an above average player at that position? Something is badly off kilter somewhere.
Is Jenny that much a better all-around program leader than Porter?
I'd push back on your assertion that we are on some consistent rise right now at the end of the season.. yes, we came off of a nice win last game but we lost to lsu embarrassingly like what, 1-2 weeks ago?My perception is a little different than some of you guys. Women prolly don't get much $$ absent a few certified stars. If the OU women can get an all-SEC center in Beers in the portal, why hasn't the men's team in the past years been at least half as successful landing an
