Transfer Portal 2025

We barely landed a top 15 class in football. If you think that is good enough for OU, not sure what to say.
It was based on numbers of recruits this year , they took less recruits this cycle. Look at the numbers compared to other schools. They would be top 10 if they took more.

Nope. I went and looked. Even if you use the average recruit ranking, we're still outside the top 10 pretty easily.

I'm not overly worried about football recruiting. I think they have plenty of talent to win the majority of their games. I expected recruiting to drop off a bit after a 6-6 regular season.

You may know a lot about basketball but are way off to football

18 compared to taking 23 or more !!!
Dude, 247 shows each teams average recruit score. We're outside the top 15 there too. It's not hard to find this information. Yes, taking a smaller class size hurt. But even if you handicap that, our average recruits compared to other schools' average recruits was outside the top 12-15.

17th ranked class overall.

15th ranked class by average recruit score.

So even if we had a full class with the same kind of talent, we'd still have been outside the top 10.

Which they then supplemented with a lackluster portal class. It wasn't a good recruiting year. Every major publication has said this about both our high school and portal classes.

I don't think the Portal class was that bad.

We landed Mateer, a starting DE, a starting LB/Cheetah, and a bunch of WR's, 1-2 of which may start.

We lost the WR's (they needed to go) and Carter/McCullough. Nobody else was going to start.
Our Portal class was ranked higher than Bama, Michigan, and tOSU. They all had better HS classes.

Again, talent heading into the upcoming season, we're fine. We'll lose a lot so I'd expect to be a pretty significant Portal class next year. We didn't have a lot of spots open for transfers this year, especially on the D side of the ball.

If Mo and Jones are staying, that’s the best foundation Porter has had to work with. Go get three studs and fill the other three holes with role players. Win games.

Now that college players get paid, Guys are hiring attorneys and fighting for as many years as possible. It’s the highest paying job they’ll ever get.
So am I to understand that now sitting on a bench and not getting playing time ought to not count toward eligibility? Is that what that tweet says...?

Also, how can you "enter the portal" if you do not currently qualify to play next year? It ought to spit his name right back out.

Better than the foundation of Oweh and Uzan coming off extremely promising freshmen seasons? Uzan was listed by reputable draft sites as a possible late first, early second round guy going into his sophomore year. I think that was a much better foundation than a guy Moser only played by necessity the final few games and a low level transfer coming off a back injury.

I don't think that's better than bringing back oweh and uzan for pm's 3rd year (he also brought back godwin which we know how much pm loved his game)

wague should have been getting starter min (or at the min 20 min a game ) from at least dec on ..

maybe he would have been even better by the end of the year
