Transfer Portal 2025

Honestly sophomores going into JR year might be better than JRs going into SR year.

Bc JRs going until SRs are looking to simply cash that LAST check (maybe they could improve their euro league or randomly go off and punch a nba ticket). Sophomores going until JR year, are looking to boost their values to cash yet another check in their last year

the older guys we've been getting didn't seem to get any better from start to finish.
did goodine/moore/elvis/miles/taylor get any better over the season?

We may not be at the top of the SEC in terms of NIL, but we are still an SEC team. We should be able to sign some solid transfers.

Top of my list for players (Juniors):

C - Rafael Castro (GW)
F - Khamari McGriff (UNC-W)
F - Jaden Brownell (Samford)
F- AK Okereke (Cornell)
F - Brandon Walker (Montana St)
G - Jemel Jones (Cal St Bakersfield)
F - Brenen Lorient (North Texas)
C - Izaiyah Nelson (Arkansas St)
C - Malique Ewin (Florida St)

Going for high PER players.

Go heavy analytics, go for high production and efficiency with 1 year left to prove some stuff.
The problem with some analytics are the level of competition. It’s much easier to be efficient when you’re playing Unathletic lower level players. If their athleticism doesn’t translate to SEC play, it’s no good.

True, but better than the crap we have been slingin' together, right? Unless you get SEC or P4 cast-offs, no one has played that level of competition.

just slap an interim gm tag on trae for the men and women until they are serious about hiring. dude loves his school, and is involved in certain ways already. couldn’t do it full time, more of a ceremonial role like curry being asst gm to davidson. but better than nothing. it’s crazy, i know. flame away…

I listened to the Scoop Pod, they had around 10 minutes of MBB talk. Nothing substantial but can relay lol.

No portal mentions but “Bob is working on some follows.”

Mentioned Villanova rumors, said Willard was most likely option.

Said OU is working on the GM hire, no timetable.

Agreed… donors would be more likely to give money to Trae young than Joe Castiglione.

Stuff like this would be smart

Trae
Buddy
BG

Get one or all involved. Assistant GMs. Whatever.

I'm starting to think Moser just doesn't want to give up control (I don't know that, obviously....someone can speak on it if they have it sourced)

I’m not criticizing you. The work you do is much appreciated. I was just pointing out the difference in competition makes a difference. You’re right about some of the stiffs we’ve been getting.

This isn’t as crazy as it may sound. Given the complete lack of interest from the admin to support the program, going back forever. This would be a great idea to bridge until we get a full time GM.

With most things going through agents nowadays, these little Twitter sleuthing tidbits are becoming less important, frequent, etc.

but these are the programs who have followed since they hit the portal:

Obviously, there are previous relationships dating back to pre-OU and/or high school days that won't be reflected with new follows.
