Transfer Portal 2025

He's a sophomore and only played in 4 games this year so could apply for a waiver and have 3 years left most likely. But 350k over 3 years is how I would interpret that number, which if you like the player and you budget is say 2 million a year I guess its not that bad.
The snakey agents play fast with the "over x years" part. Often omitting it completely so that in the future negotiations when the client inevitably enters the portal again, they'll go back and point to the old incorrect reporting to try to establish that vastly inflated, and false, market worth

Wild times. Kentucky plays tonight and just received a commitment from a transfer and it's on ESPN's front page. This new normal is so garbage.

So OU has had no positive news, and Kentucky, still in the tourney, has had multiple Portal commits? Just crazy to me.
Wow, the teams with the biggest budgets (and/or brands) have no problem getting multiple commits early to get more talent, and those teams with more talent (and budgets) are still playing in the tourney.

Just seems so crazy.

Garbage product. I for sure will be losing interest over time

Yeah, I hear you. It's frustrating when you're on the side of the have-nots. And the stupid NCAA lifting the penalty on transfers made it a free for all with no boundaries.

But to some extent, college sports have always been dominated by those who have. Even for those who weren't cheating by giving bags, it has always been controlled with the best facilities, best support, best TV, best brand, etc.

It's always been about haves and have-nots. Just more in the open and in our faces than ever before with straight payments from "NIL".

I would hate it even if we were beneficiaries of the new system

Well, that's good and bad......Penny convinces kids he can get them to the pros and they pay them in the meantime. Penny has never had a problem getting talent to Memphis.
Yeah, not the easiest to recruit against Memphis. However, we did beat Auburn last year on getting Duke Miles...so you never know. I don't know what Memphis' numbers look like at that position, but if we can at least match their offer, I think this kid will see that the position is likely his day 1. Lord knows we could have used a rebounder like this, this past season!! I really like this kid. Go take a look at his game logs from this past season. The dude is a rebounding machine! He had a five game stretch where his rebound stats were the following: 15, 19, 18, 10, 13!! o_O

Excerpt from the On3 article talking about his visits:

“I want to start taking visits no later than the Final Four,” Stillwell said. “I’m ready now, so I might get some for next week, but I want to narrow schools down after the Final Four. I want to be done by early April if that can happen.

“I want to be able to come in and dominate. I want to help a team win and be the dog that I know I can be. Like I said before, I don’t need a special system. I can get the job done, so I won’t be looking too much at play style. I can tell you this: whoever it is will get a 100 percent dog, and they won’t regret it.”

Sounds like visit could be next week!

Also, on Stilwell...looks like he's only played one year of D-1 even though he's listed as a junior. I assume he's a juco kid and would have 3 years of eligibility at OU due to that lawsuit?? Anyone?
