I’m not a huge fan. There are exceptions to every rule but you shouldn’t make a habit out of taking average players from bad teams.Solid athlete and good offensive player, but very bad defender.
Hey Luke’s brother is on the board! He did what was asked of him. That was not what he was recruited for. 2 years of inconsistent coaching, put in roles when players were hurt/not performing/quitting, practicing one position/role all summer to be put in a different situation even after not playing for multiple games.
Playing for a coach where it was always the bigs' faults when things didn't go right. All 3 taking the brunt of the blame.

And from what I have heard or read, this is last year's numbers. Top teams in the SEC could be spending as much as $8-10M; $4-5M would be the bottom of the middle of the pack for the upcoming year. Really excited about Trae's involvement, but gonna need a lot more than his $1M addition.Speaking with one SEC Coach, he told me, “In the SEC, $4 or $5 million will land you in the middle of the pack. You will probably need more than $6 million to compete in the top tier.”
“Most of the SEC will be the biggest spenders,” an ACC coach said. “Really, the top of every high major league will at least be spending $6 to $8 million.
From an article on NIL. UGHHHHH
With a good head coach, we could get back to where we have traditionally been, top 5 in conference and in the tourney every year, with $5-6 million budget for NIL. If we want to compete for titles, $8-10 million budget. That’s the cost of doing business. And from what I have heard or read, this is last year's numbers. The whiteboard on Texas posted earlier ITT was $7MM just for a starting lineup, not counting the bench.
At $3M-ish last year, shows how far off we are from competing not only at the top, but even middle of the pack.
Richmond. Pedulla. Garrison. Till we actually land someone with lots of big time offers, it’s more of the same IMHO. I just hope that if/when the big fish turn us down, we don’t end up with C and D level alternatives like last season. We need much better fallback options.Loving it, doesn’t seem like we are messing around. These are the type of guys we wouldn’t even mess with contacting for the most part last cycle.
Another wonderful, thoughtful “reply” from our “insider.”Richmond. Pedulla. Garrison. Till we actually land someone with lots of big time offers, it’s more of the same IMHO. To even make the tourney with level c & d players says a lot about PM’s coaching ability, right? Which is it? We had really good talent and he underperformed or we had marginal talent and he did a good job getting them in the tourney?Richmond. Pedulla. Garrison. I’ll bite. Told myself I wouldn’t engage anymore.Richmond. Pedulla. Garrison. Till we actually land someone with lots of big time offers, it’s more of the same IMHO. The goalposts have been moving for months here.I’ll bite. Told myself I wouldn’t engage anymore.
If Porter sucks so bad and we had c/d level players…. How did we make the tournament?
you keep moving goal posts.
