I’m not a huge fan. There are exceptions to every rule but you shouldn’t make a habit out of taking average players from bad teams.

But I guess OU has a type (4 man). Why not improve the position though? Defense + offense?

(EvanMiya, while great, isn't 100% gospel obviously. All stats need/should be matched with eye test/film/etc).

What was he recruited for? And who quit?
 
Speaking with one SEC Coach, he told me, “In the SEC, $4 or $5 million will land you in the middle of the pack. You will probably need more than $6 million to compete in the top tier.”

“Most of the SEC will be the biggest spenders,” an ACC coach said. “Really, the top of every high major league will at least be spending $6 to $8 million.

And from what I have heard or read, this is last year's numbers. Top teams in the SEC could be spending as much as $8-10M; $4-5M would be the bottom of the middle of the pack for the upcoming year. Really excited about Trae's involvement, but gonna need a lot more than his $1M addition.

The whiteboard on Texas posted earlier ITT was $7MM just for a starting lineup, not counting the bench.

At $3M-ish last year, shows how far off we are from competing not only at the top, but even middle of the pack.

With a good head coach, we could get back to where we have traditionally been, top 5 in conference and in the tourney every year, with $5-6 million budget for NIL. If we want to compete for titles, $8-10 million budget. That’s the cost of doing business.

If we stay where we currently are, we’re looking at bottom half or competing for last place.

Richmond. Pedulla. Garrison. Till we actually land someone with lots of big time offers, it’s more of the same IMHO. I just hope that if/when the big fish turn us down, we don’t end up with C and D level alternatives like last season. We need much better fallback options.

To even make the tourney with level c & d players says a lot about PM’s coaching ability, right? Which is it? We had really good talent and he underperformed or we had marginal talent and he did a good job getting them in the tourney?

If Porter sucks so bad and we had c/d level players…. How did we make the tournament?
