Transfer Portal 2025

I'll give you credit for being bold. Blake is arguably the most athletic big man in decades, and even the most glowing reports on Rogers mention his game being somewhat below the rim in actual games.
Yeah I hear he's below the rim, but every highlight i watch is of him crushing dunks so idk.. but then again, jalon Moore could dunk too but he was below the rim imo.

I'm going to say 7 & 7 his frosh year but hoping for 10 & 10.

10 and 10? We haven't had a guy average 7+ rebounds since Tanner Groves and Doolittle... I'd be happy if he was a 10-6 kind of guy

He definitely has the size to compete at the SEC level. Would be surprised if he doesn’t get minutes, but then again PM can be hesitant to play freshmen. Worried he will be the type of guy to transfer out if he doesn’t get many minutes next year. Reminds me a lot of Nelly Junior Joseph from UNM.

pm played fears as a freshman. didn't seem hesitant about that.
maybe he plays freshmen who he thinks are ready to help win.
if pm doesn't sign another center....he will be forced to play rogers a lot of minutes....after wague gets in foul trouble.

He has absolutely played true freshmen who are ready to play. Milos started the last 24 games as a true freshman and averaged 29 mpg his freshman year. Oweh started the last 10 games of his freshman season and averaged 23 mpg during that time…and of course you have Fears this year. Cooper simply wasn’t ready…when he was in there, had the deer in headlights look.

Speaking of freshmen, when should we know for sure whether Blair is going to school next year? When is the MLB draft?

Anyone know how the Holst kid did this last year in whatever basketball league he played in? Thanks.
I don't think either of those guys will be ready to contribute this year, assuming Blair even makes it on campus.

Yes. I'm hyped and def reserve the right to be wrong, but we are starving for a good C. He looks the part man
Have you watched any extended video of him?

He is VERY limited if he doesn't have a relatively wide open dunk or easy layup. VERY limited.

Not saying he doesn't have the potential to be really good, but we've recruited higher ranked kids that couldn't contribute early. SEC basketball isn't forgiving to undeveloped big men.

Not to be negative, because I do appreciate having some basketball coverage from our beat writers… But Bob’s “Moser Musings” he does are literally just copy and paste the exact same thing every week. He just changes the wording of like 1 paragraph and ships it out. I wish we had more than just him or Lusk, bc I refuse to buy an OUI sub on principle alone.

based on what?
the video i've seen of blair...he looked pretty good. physically looked pretty big/strong.
yeah holst is thin but so is chet holmgren.

Well there you have it -- comparing him to a guy who was the top pick in the draft after his freshman year.

He's definitely no Holmgren. I watched some of his tape the other day and to me, he looks like he could be everything that we wanted Northweather to be. I don't know how stiff the NBA Academy competition is, but he has a really smooth, quick release on his shot, he's a pretty good cutter, and he seems to be a decent distributor. He is never going to be a back to the basket player, but could be an okay 5 in a 5 out scheme. He's thinner and lighter on his feet/quicker than Northweather. Probably needs to bulk up a bit, but may be able to contribute in short doses this year.

Based on history and having watched the sport for multiple decades.

Fans do this all the time, hype kids up and expect too much too soon. You also have to look at where he plays and the competition for minutes at that spot.

To be fair, you get way more info on this board than anywhere. This plus a sprinkle of Trilly gets you more than any other site.

Maybe we can have a ChatGPT plug-in that summarizes the commentary of a few posters here into an article.

Our ChatGPT beat writer will be called, Tilly Bubbs.

Great idea on Chat GPT! LOL. And yeah, I'm not so sure that some "reporters" in the media and on the other boards get their information straight from this site.

Bob used to be really good, but as they moved and expanded, it seems basketball has taken a back seat. Plus, I don't like how everything on the site is now designed to get more clicks, listen to the podcasts, or opens. Just post the news on the thread that has been started. I also think he may have lost some source(s) in Dildy or something, as he doesn't have the same inside info as tight as he used to have. But I still like how he at least has a focus on basketball on that board. Without him, it's a wasteland.

As far as Lusk, I like how he hustles to get info and tries to make basketball a priority. His only priority (well, except being a teenager and school and all those things). But he does have a propensity to throw a lot out there, and it's hard to filter out what is likely or just speculation.

This board has better news than either, and I'll take sources like @notaburner over any local media source. Plus, where else can one get spreadsheets, inside scoop, and always positive conversation and optimism about OU hoops?? And, I learn about medians, averages, and proper math terms on this page- can't get that on TOS.

Coach talk is all I need. He’s spot on everything he posts here. Hopefully the clown's don’t drive him away Boomer

Agree on notaburner specifically, and Stoops and TEvans usually are far ahead of the “reporters” when it comes to portal info and coaching vacancies.
