Oklahoma Sooners TE Jalon Moore...![]()
I'm not sure PM is the one who's obsessed.pm is so weird sometimes. And his obsession with Godwin over wague looks like it was a failure too
No chance. IMO.Speaking of football and basketball dual sport athletes, as his name was mentioned many pages ago ITT... but what about CJ Nickson?
Anyone heard of him playing basketball as a realistic possibility, or just off the cuff wishes from a HS recruit?
I know they feel pretty confident about him making it to campus. I still don’t think it happens if he goes in the top 10 rounds as y’all discussed. Best outcome? MLB teams don’t draft him until late because of the threat of not signing him.
That may all be true, but you can present stats in a way that may not depict the full picture. For example: Wague was better than Godwin in eFG% (72.3% vs 59.3%), Offensive Rebound % (19.2% vs 15.9%), Free Throw % (65.4% vs 56.3%), Assist % (10.9% vs 8.1%), and Steal % (4.2% vs 2.7%). In all of those categories I just listed (minus FT%), Wague was in the 96th or higher percentile according to cbbanalytics.com this past season.I'm not sure PM is the one who's obsessed.
Here are the per-minute stats for Godwin and Wague:
Godwin
.28 rpm, .35 ppm, .14 fpm, .03 bpm
Wague
.27 rpm, .34 ppm, .20 fpm, .03 bpm
It's basically dead even, except for fouls. Wague's per-minute foul rate would have amounted to a total of 115 total fouls compared to Godwin's 81, if he'd played the same number of minutes Sam did. That's a 42% increase. In what way would he have been an improvement over Sam to make the significant increase in fouls worth absorbing?
Some like to act like Wague played the way he played at the end of the season....the whole season. They forget how bad he was at times. In other games, he didn't play long enough to be bad or good because of fouls. Godwin wasn't great by any means, but he had some good moments. The truth is, neither should have been starting for us. And tbh, I am a tad concerned about that spot for next year, assuming we add no one else. Wague will get in foul trouble at times, that a certainty...so I hope the freshman is ready.I'm not sure PM is the one who's obsessed.

This guy is about to get fired.
Yep, it is a good incoming class, but this coaching staff needs to get some level of internal improvement from Wague that other coaches haven't been able to get out of him. At this point, I'm afraid he is who he is.Some like to act like Wague played the way he played at the end of the season....the whole season. They forget how bad he was at times. Give me wague's stats after godwin's injury. He was much better thenI'm not sure PM is the one who's obsessed.

You don’t think he was better this year than he was at bama?Yep, it is a good incoming class, but this coaching staff needs to get some level of internal improvement from Wague that other coaches haven't been able to get out of him. At this point, I'm afraid he is who he is.

Which makes one wonder why Moser played him 7 minutes in game 29. Let’s be honest, if Sam doesn’t get hurt in game 30, Wague wouldn’t have gotten any more run down the stretch. You don’t think he was better this year than he was at bama?
Or from game 10 to 30?
Didn't watch him that much at Bama, but the per 40 minutes/per 100 possession numbers are basically the same. His foul rate is a little lower. I think he improved a little during the season, but it is a lot different when you are playing starter minutes. Teams will have film on him, and can play against his tendencies to be aggressive, foul a lot, and go for the block which puts him out of position to rebound. He definitely improved, but I'm just worried about him being the full time starter. Could be wrong or Kai Rogers is a superstar that takes the job from him.You don’t think he was better this year than he was at bama?

They're included in the stats I gave you and are the only reason the comparison was that close.Give me wague's stats after godwin's injury. He was much better then
You might not be the biggest PM apologist but you defend every single playing time decision he makes with this same logic. We all agree that Moser thinks he is playing the right guys. That doesn’t mean he is.They're included in the stats I gave you and are the only reason the comparison was that close.
It often happens that a player plays over his head when he is called upon to step in for an injured player. I hope we get that Wague next season; that would be great. But you (and others) are (and have been) saying he should have been starting all season and there was nothing at all to indicate that he was going to be that guy until Godwin went down. I think my PM non-apologist bona fides are well established by now, but to just assume that Wague was clearly the guy last season and PM was "obsessed" with Godwin is just silly. PM knew he was on the hot seat. If Wague was outperforming Godwin in practice, he'd have been playing.
I talked about isolated stats for after Godwin was hurt. Wague took it up a notch. We all saw itThey're included in the stats I gave you and are the only reason the comparison was that close.
