The coaches and kid said he was going to play. I’m not sure anyone thought he’d come in and be our starting big....

And thanks for reminding me that we don't need anybody that can bang down low and gobble up rebounds. Stay after me... I can be a handful to keep in line. But i'll sleep well tonight knowing you'll do your best!

Exactly! NRK was thought to a backup plan, an athletic big with some basketball skills to add to our depth. No one that I can recall was under the illusion he would be the next Julius Peppers. Lon was said to be involved in his recruitment, so it definitely appeared to be a possibility at the time.

Then again, some of us have been down this road before. Football is still king at OU.

How could you possibly forget? The always present board monitors are on standby to correct any error you make and to provide expert advice on how you should act or think. The service is free, too

not sayin he can't play...but highlites are just that (I know ya know) highlites...

Sure if ya showed every great rock climb I did in my jeep ya'd think I was a billy goat...

I know we do need a another guard..but man we REALLY need some size inside.
 
Minn Guard Marcus Carr is in portal.. JR. that averaged 19ppg. I think we need one wing and one big for sure... Two bigs would be great though. I asked a week ago about Kuath from Hutch Juco.. 6'7 4 man that's athletic maybe more skilled than his brother.

Agreed. Go back a few posts and you’ll see I was asking why we had an interest in a 5’ 11” point guard? I still don’t know, but I’m guessing our coaches think we’ll need another point guard. Does that mean DeVion may not be coming back? I don’t have a clue. I can only assume our coaches have a valid reason.

I also made it clear in that post, a quality big should be our number one objective.

Agreed, quality big is number one priority. Devion took a big leap this year when he was moved off-ball and turned into the secondary ball-handler/playmaker, so maybe the coaching staff wants to continue that for him.

I don't have much interest in Russell. We don't need somebody that size that just shot 34% from the field, and 24% from three. At that height, he better be able to shoot the 3 ball if he hopes to have success in a big boy conference.

We need another ball handler, I think that’s why they would have interest in him or someone else who can fill that role. As of now, Harkless would be our primary ball handler with Harmon off the court. I wouldn’t feel good about that over an entire season.

Never know who could be a pg next year. Lon has had great success making pg.

As long as Harmon comes back I’m fine with taking another PG.... hope it’s not a signal that Harmon won’t be back!

Early in the year I thought he was going to bounce. I think he knows keys are his now.
 
If we had any doubts as to whether Reaves was planning to stay or not, I think this probably answers that. Still could change his mind, but he appears to be gonzo.

Manek and Williams will be interesting. Honestly, I don't mind if Williams leaves. He hasn't really developed in his time here.
 
Walker Kessler is a big that just entered the transfer portal from UNC. 5 star freshman out of high school, 7'1 245lbs. Will probably have a lot of teams after him, so a longshot for OU.
 
Very doubtful that Alondes is back. I would love the 6’6” kid from ORU! Hopefully he doesn’t transfer but he is a player
