transfer

Love the talented addition of Little.
But the logjam at 1/2/3 is becoming considerable.

I stole this from a post SoonerTraveler made. Assuming Hale knows what he's talking about:

Interesting. Can't say I completely understand the thought process of adding another guard but we'll see what happens. Maybe someone will be leaving, who knows.

She still has two open scholarships and it adds depth. After all of the injuries this past year, OU needs all the depth possible.

On HoopScoop, a post says that Kyra Lambert (#20, 2015, 5-8 PG) de-committed from A&M today. Curious timing.

Interesting thought on Kornet to the 4. She has the size. She has the shooting range. Rebounding and defense could be a real issue there.

It will be interesting to see what Sherri does at the 4. She could play Kaylon at the 4 (if she's healthy), she could move Sharane to the 4 although she is undersized for that position. She has the option of starting Kellogg there or she could move Kornet to the PF position. I'm generally not in favor of seeing players playing out of position but Sherri might not have an option this fall.

If Kaylon can replace Joanna and get a bit more help from Griffin and Durrett, we aren't much different from this year.

Forgot: we add Kellogg as well.

Griffin
Williams, Durrett, Kellogg
Kornet, Campbell
Manning, Ellenberg, Wyatt, Carter (Little)
Hook, Edwards

Five reasons why I DO like that Little is coming:

1. We can always use another shooter.
2. She adds depth.
3. We can always use another shooter.
4. She adds depth.
5. We can always use another shooter.

Assuming that Little is coming, I am pleased for one reason:

apparently, Sherri sees a need for her.

If she were a bust, I doubt Sherri would have accepted her. If there were better options, I doubt Sherri would have accepted her.

Here is what was written about her when she was being recruited:

Her bio from the A&M website:

Who is perceived as the best athlete, Little or Kornet?

Who is perceived as the best athlete, Little or Manning?

I had the general impression during recruiting that:

1. Kornet was a shooter.
2. Little was a scorer.
3. Manning was an athletic project.

Little is too talented to pass-up even though she's another guard. Our offense is so guard oriented that we can't have enough good ones.

Okay, this is where we will be after this year (not this fall) if I haven't made a mistake:

Seniors- 1

Campbell- G/F

Juniors- 2
Kornet- F
Williams- PF/C

Sophomores- 6
Manning- G/F
Wyatt- G
Kellogg- PF
Edwards- PG
Carter- G
Little- G

Freshmen- 4

Williams

That gives us 10 on the roster (which doesn't include any additional recruits). Two of those would be considered 4/5s and 8 would be considered 1,2, and 3s. Of course, Sherri could move someone or she could choose to go with a 4-guard offense if she doesn't add any additional bigs. Let me know if you see some mistakes.

Commitments

Dungee (class of 2016)
