is such a baffoon and a baby. I almost feel bad for OSU's fanbase that they have that guy representing them in basketball. His act on the sideline is embarrassing and sad.

Lon and he are night and day...

When they called a foul on I believe Cobbins down low and he was booing, I was truly saddened for their fanbase.

BT, you nailed it with your baffoon and a baby characterization of Travis Ford. His antics on the sideline in the KU game last night, when he cupped his hands to his mouth and booed the officials (not once but at least twice on camera) proves that is an accurate description. I'm still hoping someone will post the clip to Youtube.

I'll admit it was funny. But if I was an OSU fan, I would be embarrassed that the head coach my basketball team was behaving like a school boy in a nationally televised game.

They won't be embarrassed. Probably shed a few tears, like a proud father who's son just pinned a girl in a rasslin' match......... :eddie187_jpg_xs::eddie187_jpg_xs:

He can recruit, but his game management is seriously lacking.

Yeah... some of his antics would make Kelvin Sampson blush.

On the upside, he doesn't seem to own any denim shirts.

The good news is that Marcus Smart has probably bought Ford at least a couple more years in Stillwater... :woot

Jeff, there are lots of coaches who are excessively animated on the sidelines but this is the first time I've ever heard of a coach booing a call of an official. It's childish and immature.

I like denim shirts! :ez-laugh:

Travis looks good on the sideline with his dark suits and bright orange ties. I'll give you that. The question is, how did you feel when he was caught by the camera on the sideline in last nght's game, yelling BOO! BOO! when the official made a call he didn't like?

I have been watching college basketball for more years than I want to talk about, but that's the first time I have seen the head coach of a major university cup his hands to his mouth and boo an official. Be honest, weren't you embarrassed when he did that?

I'll be the first to admit that booing an official is not nearly as bad as some of the language I've heard or the temper tantrums I've seen. It's just that a grown man who would do something like that is grossly immature, or he lost track of who and where he was, and decided to join the OSU student section in booing the officials.

Ford booing was no worse than Capel rolling the ball to an official to make his point. And OU fans LOVED that.

It is almost lower than Drew screaming during the opponents free throws.

I don't see the correlation there.

I never thought of Capel as a baffoon (just a below average Xs and Os bball coach and a poor evaluator of role players).

How do you see no correlation? Both are things that 99% of other coaches don't do, that were done to show-up an official. Both were pretty stupid/immature things to do. Both coaches were/are fairly young.

It's nearly exactly the same thing, IMO.

It is a tough, competitive game with passionate coaches, players and fans. There have always been many college basketball coaches that failed to conduct themselves as gentlemen at all times.

I like Travis Ford at OSU. While he recruits well, his game day management will give us a competitive advantage in the coming years.

That should be something all OU fans can agree on.

Very similar the way I feel about Mack Brown being at UT. :clap
