I just saw that Tre Evans decommitted from OSU. Any idea if OU pursues him with the Pritchard decommitment?

I'd be surprised if he's a priority. I'm honestly surprised OSU offered so early.

Did see where we just offered 2016 pg Andrew Jones.

Jones is more of a combo guard who can play the point. He's an impressive, ultra-quick athlete with a good skill set. Check out his speed in getting the ball up the court in this highlight video.

He also has offers from 20 schools or more, so I'm not surprised that OU has offered him. By the way, where did you see that?

Jones is a 2-guard, I wouldn't put him at the point.

Agreed. Verbal commits, the web site that triggered the post above, has him listed as a PG, so I can see why BCSooners made that assumption. To me, he's a two guard who might be able to back up the one if need be. I don't see this offer as a sign that our coaches have given up on Payton Pritchard, which is the main reason I pointed out that Jones is "more of a combo guard." Pritchard is a true point guard who could swing to the two if need be. That's a good problem to have if OU is fortunate enough to sign both players.

There is more to the story of Evans OSU offer. There is a saving face situation going on here. It would SHOCK me if OU offered.

Does OSU not want Evans? So him "decommitting" is a clean break for both parties?

I don't get the non-committable offer. Either it's an offer or it isn't. How is it an offer if he can't commit.

They do it all the time in football. If it's contingent on someone else's decision, then it's non-committable. OU could offer a PG with the contingency that they can't commit until Pritchard decides where he's going. Other times they might offer 2 players and take the player that commits first.

It is doubtful OSU ever offered him. When he announced his commitment to them I heard the aggies were shocked.

Coaches can't publicly comment on recruits, so any player can technically "commit" before signing day without a program/coach being able to refute it.

In that case, please allow me to share my good news with you all: I have recently committed to play basketball for the University of Oklahoma. And the best part of it is, I'll have five years to play four, so if they need to redshirt me for a season, no problem!

247 has him a top 150 nationally
#23 shooting guard
And the #3 player in the state of Ok

Everyone raves about his jumper, both the range and consistency. Plus the ability to shoot off the dribble or the spot up. Some day best shooter in the class.

I'd say he is a high D-1 player.

Is this about Evans?

He isn't a consistent shooter or one that scares defenses.

Yeah, Evans isn't a true Top 150 recruit. I don't think he had an offer from OSU but they let him save face by decommitting.
