That's awesome. Makes me want to be a student again or at least back in Oklahoma so I could attend.

There are more people there for college game day then OSU draws for an actual game.

The only way this day could be better for OU hoops is a big win over KU! As a lifelong hoops fan, I do appreciate the attention on Norman today, this team deserves it.

Why did gameday show Kansas has won 11 regular season conf champions in a row? I thought kstate won it three years ago

Students leave Gameday 30 min early

I also thought that was odd, if not disappointing. However, I wonder if it had anything to do with the students: 1) wanting to get in line to get back into the arena for the game, or 2) catch the buses back to where they came from...although the buses were supposed to run until 11:30, which would've been an hour after the students were clearing out.

I took that as a joke. Nothing about the students leaving after showing up an hour or more early for game day makes any sense to me. I have a feeling schoonerdriver said that tongue in cheek. If not, that strikes me as a little odd as well.

I heard on the radio that they were letting people in free for game day, but they may have had to clear out to prepare for actual game. I'm sure they would have stayed as long as they could, plus you got to get your drink on.

Buddy has resurrected OU basketball. This is amazing

I watched it on TV and the massive clear-out around the time schoonerdriver posted that comment wasn't a joke. When ESPN came back to GameDay with Reece Davis at the :42 min. mark into the program, just before the story with Buddy's mom, I was shocked to see over half the crowd gone and much of the remaining crowd really spread out, with the notable exception of those front and center behind the GameDay desk.

After that story and before the commercial break leading up to the State Farm half-court shot, I noticed that Reece Davis commented on the crowd. He said they should storm the court if the half-court shot was made and they were able to give away the $18k. However, he said, "Not enough people in the crowd. The can't do that because we're too close to game time."

I also noticed that they appeared to move the remaining people closer into the center for the end of the program when the GameDay guys made their picks for the day.

Oh, my! That sure puts a damper on the great crowd I saw in Toby's tweet. :facepalm

Kansas has won or shared the conference regular season title 11 seasons in a row. Four of those were shared (with OU 2005, OSU 2006, Texas 2008, and KSU 2013), and all four times they were the #2 tournament seed on tiebreakers. But technically they were still co-champions all four years.

Unfortunately I can confirm that some of the students left with about 15-20 mins left. I get that they wanted good seats, but they gave the students some wristbands to give them preferred places in the line.

I'll admit I don't take a great deal of interest in Gameday -- hoops or football -- but maybe they should have let anyone with tickets who came early enough for Gameday pick and retain their seats for the game. That way, they wouldn't have left.

Apparently the "preferred entrance" line was still more than 500 people deep before the end of Gameday.
