TUM TUM decision Thursday at 10am

He said he and Izzo were a match made in heaven.

Fill me in guys, why can't Krueger and staff recruit? Why didn't he hire a really good recruiter?

Iowa State is going to land a top 10 player in Rashad Vaughn

1. Silly comment if true. MSU doesn't run, which is the strong suit of Tum Tum. We'll see how he does, but I bet he struggles there early in his career.

2. Dumb comment. When has OU ever really recruited well, on a national level? Sampson certainly didn't. We all knew LK wasn't going to come in here and start recruiting like we do in football. And he doesn't need to. Doesn't mean he won't go after some highly rated kids, and we'll land some of them. But we aren't going to land top recruits consistently. Also in case you forgot, our "substandard recruits" accomplished just about everything that your "studs" did last year. And I'd be willing to bet that OU and OSU have VERY similar success over the next five years. Also, it's not like Hield and Hornbeak weren't rated pretty well, and recruited by other good basketball schools.

Lon just needs to sign HS kids in the lower half of the top 150s.
Like Hield, Spangler, Hornbeak, Woodard, etc.

Program building blocks who will develop over 3 to 4 years.
And with those kids, Lon will get OU deep into the tourney.

OU's never going to get the one and done kids.

This staff isn't doing a great job of going head to head with equal teams.

Who have we for sure lost to an equal team?

We've lost a few to OSU, I'll give you that. But Michigan State isn't equal. And the way LK and staff handle recruiting, I don't think it's always easy to know who they've offered and who has a scholarship offer when they commit elsewhere.

The recruits think it makes up for it. Plus our arena is historic

I confused is it the best or historic? Typically those two things don't go together.

I also have never heard OSU had the best facilities in the country. What exactly do you think OSU has that the other Big XII schools don't have? I am completely serious in asking this.

I think us fans can thank ourselves for Lon not being able to recruit the top players in the country to OU. It's just not gonna happen with the crowds we have at our crappy little all-purpose pavillion!!! Sorry to speak the truth folks. Hope it changes, and I think it could when we start winning again. I really think if an exciting local kid would come along it would really help. IDK

I'm glad he's not coming to OU. Just in the last month since he was first mentioned already tired of the corny "Tum Tum" nonsense. People sound like first graders.

Right on Pal. 1st grade non sense of a nickname.

So because the players at Duke, Carolina, Kansas, and others don't make stupid you-tube videos they don't have great facilities?

Exactly. If they don't make the videos then they obviously don't great facilities

Exactly. If they don't make the videos then they obviously don't great facilities

Nonsense. Schools like Duke, UK, Kansas and UNC don't have to promote their facilities. All of those schools and a few others I could name have traditionally-strong programs that speak for themselves.

If you've got to stick out your chest and boast about brick, steel and mortar structures to attract recruits, that tells me OSU is not even close to the level of the schools you're trying to emulate. Of course, I knew that all along.

And, one more thing. Don't pretend that you have been to every Big 12 school personally to evaluate their facilities. Even if you say that's true, no one will believe it.

Now, I have a serious question for you. If you had your choice of an elite program, which OSU is not, and those fine facilities you seem to be so proud of, which would you choose?

My point is simple. Facilities don't mean nearly as much as building an elite basketball program that is at or near the top of the polls season after season. If OSU ever reaches that level, drop by again to brag about something that is really important. Who knows, I might rejoice with you. Well, that may be a stretch. ;)
