This kid needs to play more. I've been more impressed with him than Cameron Clark.

sucks that cam clark was rated so high and got our hopes up so early..

I think it really hurt Cam that he missed most of the summer

ya i just think he doesn't know his role because he doesnt get to see the ball that much

He might see it more if he becomes a little more aggressive. Right now he is very passive and seems to be adjusting to the level of play. When the light goes on, he probably will start just playing instead of trying to think his way through. Right now he seems to be trying NOT to make mistakes, which usually leads to mistakes. He will make an impact before the season is over, IMO...........:clark:

Sixteen points on 4 of 6 shooting and 6 rebs in 24 minutes is pretty salty for a freshman. Tyler may somewhat of a defensive liability right now. But if he improves in that area, Thompson and C. J. could be watching from the bench before long.

Are you serious Ada, he played the low post as well as anyone today. I thought he would be a liability but he is not. I am not sure we would be better if Fitz sits and Neal and Washington play more and we run a little faster offense. That is just a guess! I enjoy watching Fitz when he catches it and can make a move, however he is too slow for the good post player to not shut him down and out of the paint.

You nailed it, jmizzy! We all know Cam is a lot better than what he showed today. He does indeed need the ball more. But he's not going to get it by going ofer from the field and the free throw line, while giving the ball up 3 times on turnovers. This was not his best game of the season, but he was far from the only one.

We'll see what this team is made of tomorrow afternoon. One thing is for sure, they had better come ready to play right out of the gate, regardless of the opponent. They're not good enough to play catch up in the second half and expect to beat anyone but the cupcakes on our schedule.

I agree Neal was maybe one of the best low post defenders today. He needs to play because of his offense and basketballl IQ and high ceiling.

Start T Neal we need some one who can shoot, cuz right now we arent playing very good defense and we need some points

Neal also rebounded today. When he wasn't getting the rebound they were going over his back.

The kids knows how to play basketball. He needs to be of the main guys getting minutes RIGHT NOW.

I'd like to see Capel running 4 guards & one post. That's the way the team seems to be constructed.

Fitz
Tyler
Cam
Cade
Calvin

Fitz's job is set picks & clear out for slashers or find the open man on the double. Or hit the short range jumper.

CJ spells Fitz with Honore backing them up

Then
Pledge
Blair
Nick

Competitive sports are actually won with defense. Rec leagues are won with offense. The biggest misconception among Sooner fans is that Tubbs teams were all about offense. The fact of the matter is the offense was generated from the defense. I don't know if Neal is a defensive liability but OU has to play great defense to win basketball games.

If I see a 4 guard lineup this year I'm losing it, we don't have a guy with the length of the Tony Crocker to even run that stuff with smoke and mirrors like last year.

We need to stay big.

1baby, I agree that Tyler played really well today, which is why I gave him props and predicted that he would steal some of Nick and C.J.'s minutes if he continued to play at that level.

I said he was "somewhat" of a liability on defense, meaning he has a ways to go before he'll be ready for Big 12 caliber competition. But if today's game is any indication, T Neal is not the only one who has some work to do. I was very pleased with his performance, and I'm excited about what he could bring to this team in the future, this season and in the years to come. He's a lot further along than I expected him to be this early in his career.
