Uconn Series

Will be anxious to see how UConn program continues in American Conference. They will continue to schedule strong out of conference but conference season will pretty much be joke unless their recruiting begins to suffer. No more ND or Rutgers to play anymore.

Yeah, The women's program is dominating the AAC, but the Men's team has struggled at times...

Anyway I'm glad we are playing Uconn hopefully we can get a win or 2.

I dunno how this helps recruit talent..Seeing OU get beaten badly, wouldn't the talented recruits rather player for the team that wins??

Hmm not sure how you can see into the future to predict wins... The top talent wants to play the top teams. The Maryland head coach was recently quoted as saying something similar as to why she would schedule Uconn. it's too far away to assume anything about either team. Yes, Uconn is the perennial number one team in the nation, but OU has several good recruits coming in, as well as several elite players they are looking at for the 2017 class to go with Lanusa.

I agree with you. We likely just scheduled 4 losses. I can see how that helps UCONN, but not sure how that helps us.

UConn loses a lot this year. We are bringing in some people that might give UConn difficulty, depending on how they perform. May not be the disaster that some project.

Obviously some here don't understand competition. Competitive players want to play against the best. They don't want to play nothing but patsies. If you're afraid of losing, you've already lost.

+ a million...

Also Uconns 2016 class isn't what you would call gang busters, a lot will depend on who they sign for 2017, look at how far Stanford has fallen...

I agree a lot will come down to the 2017 class. I think this series is coming at a good time for OU. the 2017-18 season will be Mulkey, Dungee's, and Rich's sophomore season, Vivi's, Ortiz's and Treece's senior, Penzo will be a junior, Lanusa will be a freshman, and there is a possibility Manning would still be here for this game as a senior. Add a couple of elite freshman with Lanusa that OU is recruiting, and this could be a good game.

Seems we get beaten badly each time we play UCONN. I like good competition. Would rather play Notre Dame, Stanford, South Carolina, etc.But Coale and Auriemma are good buddies.

I think Sherri's principal reason is to measure her team and get an idea about who she has and who is willing to compete.

I think it's a good deal. I don't like playing just cupcakes, it doesn't help measure where your team is at. Throw in some elite teams once in a while, besides that is what the kids want. It's about playing the best to become better.

And besides we lost to North Texas this year, how unexpected was that...
