Up next: Northwestern

I dont see why everyone wanted to give doolittle so much crap - you hafta observe what's going on in the game around them. We had kids overplaying many of those passes to put pressure on NW for not having a true point. It paid off quite a few times and a few times it led to easy baskets. But you don't/can't measure the success of that by a single play. That pressure makes them make poor decisions or mishandle easy passes or just generally hafta think too much instead of just reacting athletically. It makes a difference and it's not fair to judge one player's individual performance based on that.

Doolittle being a bulldozer in the paint. That’s who he should’ve been all along. Stay off the 3 point line and bang in the paint. He’s strong like a bull and he brings some toughness in the paint that we need. He can shoot those 10-12 footers and bang in the paint. That’s where he should live and that’s where he should’ve always been.

That’s who he is and he’s good at it.

Good win against a good team. Collins has done a good job of bringing the Northwestern program from the ashes. He did a good job of adjusting to what Odomes and Miles to a lesser degree did in the first half.

Thought at times that we were too much one on one and forced too many hard shots agianst taller players. And we got very few fouls on our inside shots. they were not calling many fouls particularly on Northwestern. Typical home advantage. Charging call on Reynolds late was particularly bad.

Ran some very good offense at times. Depth still our greatest strength. Poor offensive game by James but Odomes and Doolittle picked him up.

One of the great stats is the combination of 11 assists and only two turnovers by our two point guards. Bieniemy 5 and 0. Guy is beginning to develop his offensive game as well. As he gains more confidence I could see him having a double figure night sometime soon. On defense he is the best Sooner I have seen in years at keeping his man in front of him. Really moves his feet well. Also two steals tonight.

Shocked that we outrebounded them so much (52-36). The two or three offensive rebounds in a row by Northwestern really hurt our effort to extend the lead in regulation.

They were mugging us in the paint and we got very few calls. OU's radio guys pointed out late in the game that James didn't shoot a single free throw -- I'm not sure they called a foul while he had the ball all night long, and he was seeing lots of contact.

Pardon was whistled just twice, and he delivers hard defensive contact play after play.

I hope for some reason OU isn't ranked. We can keep that chip on our shoulder going into the Kansas game after a long break.

He’s finishing around the rim!

That was one thing he was lacking his first couple years

Most obvious thing I saw ...Manek and Doo need to be on the court together! Why is Lon making them split time at the 4 again? They have great chemistry. Have been playing together since they were 5 years old and it shows

And Manek and Freeman together are a defensive nightmare

Hands tied with Muni out tho

Will this game be replayed anywhere but the Big 10 network?
I'll have it up in a half hour. I'm also going to post a few other games from this year on youtube. I'll have those links up when they are ready.

Man, there were a lot of no calls in this game. Some downright obvious fouls that the refs just ignored. However, they did a good job of not letting it get too one sided. Doolittle was mugged numerous times tho.

Unbelievable win, Sooners! Freaking amazing stuff so far!

Just curious, are certain posters who spent the first 15 minutes of the game bashing Doo and saying the team was embarrassing still awake? Did their internet stop working? Do they still hate watching Doo? I can only guess since they haven't posted since we pulled off a great road win against a top 40 opponent without our starting center.

I was wondering the same thing. Big win at a tough environment.
