Update

Sorry for not posting an update sooner, I have been busy doing the college thing, since I want to graduate in May, but here are the things I can post at this time...

1) There is once again an official student group of basketball supporters, a la the Capelables. Officially the Top Daugs were not a group at OU last year. For marketing reason the group will be called Krug's Kru, and will be a hybrid of the Top Daugs and a more philanthropy group. Our group merged with another student organization and thus is how this two-sided approach to this group. *More information will be given when the official unveiling is done in the near future*

2) OUHoops is correct, there will be some sort of free fan experience/scrimmage at the Fieldhouse on October 20th, before the Football game (which is probably going to be a 6 o'clock kickoff, so tip off would be 2ish)


3) On that note too, Sooner Basketball will have a major role in this year’s Greek Pep Rally held at the Fieldhouse, with either a slam-dunk contest or a combined m/w 3-point contest. Details are not official, because they need to be within in the NCAA practice rules


4) The former Clinton Lounge is now going to be a student hangout location now for pre/post-game, with snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and gaming platforms.


5) The rumor is the pep band is getting a whole new musical selection book this season, so, we'll see

Watching the Volleyball game last night on TV, this definitely appears to the be the case. Although I haven't watched very many volleyball games so maybe their band has always played more current pop/rock stuff during timeouts.

I think people should be able to follow if there interested in knowing about Top Daug student events, but aren't going to go to student event. I am not totally sure I understand how twitter works for something like Top Daugs so I could be wrong.

I attend the volleyball games regularly and the band only appears maybe 2 to 3 times a season. I'm sure when the Sooners play tu the band will be there but most of the time they aren't.

First of all, I'm going to miss "Long Way Down" and "Hold On! I'm Comin'" from the selections. Having gone to OU bball games from middle school through law school, it was fair to say it is death, taxes, and the OU pep band songs.

Secondly, as a former leader of a student organization, I don't think I was ever hounded about the rules by UOSA. The key is to be friendly to the people who divvy out funding--go to the office, say hi, ask them how to do things within their framework. You will get things happening. Not once did I ever get asked about non-OU members at our events and certainly not on Facebook or Twitter.

I can only assume the list of things the UOSA could do rather than waste time checking if a "twitter follower" or "facebook like" is a current OU student is staggering in length.
