People will write them off after what happened in the tourney last year, but they are legit. Much better offensively this year. It's incredible what Tony Bennett has done, and they're going to break through with a championship sooner than later. They remind me a lot of Villanova with some sneaky athleticism and lights out 3 point shooting.

Also, for those fellow betting degenerates: UVA to cover their first round 1-16 game this year is the easiest bet of all time. Some poor Nicholls State or Arkansas Pine Bluff is going to have a years worth of pent up fury taken out on them.

Even if Jones hadn't gone down, I would have expected UVA to win handily. This is shaping up for an epic RJ Barrett game. Something like 8-33 from the field with a bunch of turnovers. I think he makes their team worse, and this is the type of game where that will shine the brightest.

I followed UVA closely last year and really enjoyed the boaconstrictor type suffocation their D put on people. They lost one of their key cogs in the ACC Tournament to a broken wrist, but I didn't think it would lead to THAT.

This is a fantastic basketball team. They are smoking people, and I'd like nothing more than for them to obliterate the ACC once again.

That said, Bryant Stith can smoke a large turd in Hell forever and ever as far as I'm concerned.

bryant stith.....omg. i lived in Denver/Boulder for 25 years and he was a nice player for the Nuggets.....i didn't get over it either.

I was in Vegas the first week of December and even though they were in the top 4, they were 20/1 to win the natty -- no doubt in large part because of what happened last year. I couldn't get to the window fast enough to put some money on them. I love how they play.

Nice bet. I put some on them at 14-1 a couple weeks ago. You can still find 12-1 at some places now, but that ship will have sailed after they beat Duke.

They are a PERFECT example of what college b-ball is all about. They prove that you don't have to have all the stars like Duke has to be a great team and win a championship. The sum of Bennet's teams are ALWAYS greater than the parts! K-State is like that to an extent...so is Texas Tech. OU has been like that at times this year.

Goes to show that tough defense, chemistry and great ball movement and shooting are a formidable combination!!
