Vs. Southeastern OSU

Harmonized!

I think we found a player who makes his lay ups.

Reaves hasn’t played a ton.
4 newbies a lot on the floor.

I like it.

Has he played in the 2nd half?

He left the game a minute or so into the second half. Toby said he didn't appear to be injured but he didn't have any solid news on that front.

Does anyone recall if OU has posted full replays of exhibition games online in previous seasons?

Just FYI for future reference: SoonerSports.com does offer a replay of tonight's game for premium members (it's already available on the site, which is impressively quick, I have to say).

Wish we shot a bit better (both shots and FTs). Outside of that, it was a good exhibition. I am sure Lon and the coaches will have plenty of teachable moments to review. Was very impressed with Jalen Hill and Harmon.

agreed, slappy. was most impressed with hill, mainly because of how much pub other guys were getting. surprised how thick he is. but so much potential.

All the pre-season talk of Reaves being the best player.
I didn't see it tonight.
Really like Harmon/Hill/Victor.

I caught the game on Fox Sports Go.

Shot selection was poor at times. Too many trey attempts or shots under pressure early in the clock rather than work for an easier shot.

Doolittle seemed out of sync.

Some really good pieces. Some a surprise. Hill a threat to Bieniemy's spot. Jamal just doesn't seem to get into the offensive flow very often. The big I a real shocker. Will be interesting if he can do that in the Big 12.

As in previous years performance dropped off with subs. Not as bad in the second half. Have to fix that before conference play. We do have the pieces to develop depth.

Not as disturbed with the D. The teams without the athletes survive with exceptional outside shooting and good ball movement. They did get too many open treys but hit some from very deep. Usually their game fades late.

Manek looks like a much more complete player. Great penetration by Harmon. Will be interesting to see if he can do that against top competition. Would help if he can develop a better outside game. Another key is whether he will make the right decisions when he is stopped.

Reaves, Manek and Hill carried us in the first half, scoring 31 of our 43 points.

I can't complain about Reaves' 10 points and 8 rebounds in 20 minutes of action; by comparison, Hill had 11 points and 3 rebounds in 30 minutes.

All Reaves' points and 7 of his 8 rebounds came in the first half. If he'd played significant minutes in the second half (he totaled just two minutes after halftime), who knows what his totals might have been. That's when the team as a whole found its stride -- Harmon scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half -- and Austin missed out on the fun. It'll be interesting to learn (if we ever do) why he sat most of the second half.

sky, reaves was injured. he went to the lockerroom. it looked like cramps, but it might’ve been hamstring or groin? pure speculation on my part, and didn’t look too serious. hopefully.

Thanks for the info. I thought maybe that was the case, but they never gave any definite info on the radio broadcast.

They aren't a team yet. They are like a puzzle that's not quite put together yet. But once they mesh they will be really good.

Spot on assessment, MsP! The pieces are there, the only question is how long will it take this collection of moving parts to develop into an efficient unit?

Southeastern was a good first test. They’re already a team, especially on offense. I was very impressed with how they attacked our defense to get good shots on nearly every possession. It will be interesting to see how well they do against teams on their schedule this season?
