Waka Shaka Flame

it wasn't a bandwagon choice. it was a "I think he's better than the other guys some people are proposing" choice. his style is almost Tubbs-esque.

but thx anyway for my bandwagonning.
If Shaka's team shows up in Houston with an empty tank, will you be jumping off the bandwagon? LOL

Heavens no. My admiration is on the style, the individual game results have just been gravy.

Plus I LOVE seeing those guys celebrate with Shaka - that group has a great bond and when you see them celebrate a win it reminds you that this is still a game and heart plays a big factor.

I think Shaka's style of play is exactly what the program needs right now. The question is can he recruit well in this region?

Really that's not a question at all. The BASE to recruiting is the schools' rep and "infamy" as a basketball power. We need, first and foremost, someone who has a style that allows us to compete with recruits that OU's base will attract. After that he needs to have the personality to grow as a recruiter.

If anyone thinks OU is gonna get back to the mendoza line simply by recruiting then they are high. That would mean we'll be relying on out-talenting our conference competition ... think about it. That's a tall order and no one has that recruiting ability.

I think having ties in the area is important. But coaching is the more important thing for our next coach. But having an actual system and coaching is more important. We didn't have that with Jeff Capel.

Swear to God if we get Shaka and put that song in our intro video I will be the happiest Sooner ever. Sure 95% of the non-student population in the LNC will be horrified but oh well...

Wouldn't "Hard in da paint" be more fitting? Better track too.

Are you saying OU does not have to play BuzzBo ball in order to be successful and to compensate for the lack of bb talent (#s) in the state of Oklahoma?
